A box just waiting for ideas
Ok all you great stampers out there, I have a 4 boxes (4" x 4") that I need to decorate.
These are boxes that we are putting tiles in to give to our speakers at our ladies retreat. The problem is I can't break them down to stamp on them (like using a wheel). I'm at a lost as to how I can go about decorating them. I thought about stamping so they'd look like the memo cubes, but I was looking for something with a little bit more WOW to it. Any suggestions?? I'm open to anything at this point!! Donna |
Can you stamp on some paper and then attach?

How about stamping something small as a background? Something that would match the theme of the tiles your are putting inside. Then you could crimp some card stock and wrap that around the box. Then stamp something like a flower or whatever matches your theme and mount that with a stampin' dimensional on the front over the corrugated card stock.

Decorate the lid and stamp ribbon to wrap it up in!

I've done this to stamp on Chinese takeout boxes that you'd get at Smart & Final. What we do is place your hand inside the box and then stamp... kinda like on your hand. Make sure your "roll" the image so you get the whole thing on there... It works pretty good.

Wish I could remeber the name of the technique but it involves glue and tissue paper. Stamp on tissue paper slightly larger than area you want to cover, crinkle into a ball and spread flat. Apply any wet, clear drying glue to box and then place tissue paper on it, tapping lightly to adhere it. Wrap box with Organza ribbon and you're done!

Pat,
I would love to have the instuctions on the boxes you did with Santa. I'm curious about how to do it. I'm also loving the idea of the tissue paper and the clear drying glue. See, I knew you guys would help me out. Any more suggestions out there? I'm still open.... Donna |
If they are brown or kraft colored boxes, wrap a strip of drywall tape around them. Cut out some leaves and/or flowers from a set like Fall Whimsy or Shapes and Shadows and mount them on pop dots over the drywall tape. Tie a rafia bow and attach someplace artistically.
