Default Arghhhhhhhhh! Is there a trick to using Simple Sketches?

I'm just beside myself. I'm using this set for the first time and I can't get the three seperate parts to line up.

TIA

it sounds like a great job for a stamp-a-ma-jig!!!! I use that with lots of my two set stamps that I want to be lined up just right.

Simple Sketches is one of my all time favorite sets. I like it because no matter how you line it up, it looks fabulous. It's a great seller to my first-time stamping customers since you can hit or miss and it looks great!

Susan,

I'm making cards for a swap. You don't think they'll look too sloppy if they're not perfectly lined up? Honestly, I wouldn't be soooooo picky if not for the swap.

That's a set on my wish list. I'm a terminal perfectionist and very picky about craft (definitely a plus when putting together sample boards for design studio), but one of the things I love about Simple Sketches is that things can be slightly off and it doesn't matter. IMO, that's where part of the charm of the stamped images comes from with that set. So relax, hon -- I thought swaps were supposed to be fun! Of course, this is coming from someone who's never participated in one! :P

I agree, a little "off" looks great. That said, though, I know how you feel and have gotten back in to using my Stamp a ma jig A LOT more; I don't even put it away anymore!

Relax, though and have fun!

Hugs,
Betsy

See, comments like my last post are how I justify not having a Stamp-a-ma-jig -- I'd rather spend the $20 on another stamp set and mount my stamps in a way that makes the images easy to line up!

Carolyn,

I agree with Susan, this set does not have to be lined up perfect. I have borrowed this set from one of my customers and used it for card fronts for Regionals. I love it. And lucky me, I can get it at a 25% discount in the month of September when I order $25.00 or more. Yeah SU.

I often times use just the biggest stamp and the line stamp (does that make sense). The middle stamp just doesn't do much for me. It also seems easier to line up 2 stamps than to line up 3.

If I'm really feeling picky, I use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I never thought I needed it until I tried it. It just makes life so much easier...kind of like a sneak preview for the second image

Thanks everybody. I'll just stop being a stampin' perfectionist. I don't even know why I'm like that about my cards. I'm so not like that in the rest of my life.

I love the Stamp-A-Ma -Jig! I use it on almost every card I make. Once you get used to using it, it's quick and easy. I just got a package of three more imaging sheets with my last order, because (as I've said before!) I'm a very messy stamper and was always hunting for it in the chaos! Now I'll have four to lose!
