Default Watercolor Sculptures

We went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin today, and saw such wonderful, wonderful things! One of the current exhibits is Shou Ping: Watercolor Sculptures. It is just beautiful! You can see the description here:
http://www.wildflower.org/?nd=exhibits

Anyway - I got a closeup. I could SO see Elaine (happyheart) doing this! It's just breathtaking to behold! I can't imagine the patience.

Wonder if any of you talented ladies could attempt something like this? Hint, hint! It's all watercolor paper and ink. SO dimensional, SO realistic. SO breathtaking! Any takers?

Amanda, it was from last weekend. Thanks!

You must go! But wait a week or so. Then all the flowers will be happy. We only had a few bluebonnets. The redbuds and mountain laurels were gorgeous, the weather was unsurpassed. . .all in all, a lovely day! It's a wonderful facility!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful! Something similar could probably be done using Petal Prints and butterfly stamps. I'll have to get some watercolor paper!

Jovi,
I love your avatar! What a funny little dog!
I've just finished my first, rather lame attempt at this and will be uploading it tonight. The artist who did those is incredible! No way could I even come close to the look she got. :(
