thank you DancingRain, i appreciate the quick response. i have tried brayering the craft ink on and it rubs off but i am going to try a little embossing powder and heat set it. fingers crossed.

When I did mine... actually several times... (drywall in my case) I placed the tape on foil... to rescue the tacky back... and then rubbed my SU! pad directly on it... then heat set with my gun. I did have to ink/heat set it twice to get a really good look. I didn't have the rub off problem... wondering if this is because it was drywall tape rather than SU! mesh? I found by using the pad directly to the tape, rather than the brayer, the ink got onto all sides of the mesh... and didn't leave the white edges like I got with a brayer. Faster than using a dauber or sponge too
I did try the craft ink and powder as well... but didn't care for the effect... or mess. I had to ink the tape... then move it to another piece of foil... place the powder on it.. then move again before heating... guess I'm just to lazy for this one LOL
Good luck... and please do share what you find works best for you.

1.Color it with Sharpies - office supply stores and Wal Mart have various colors that coordinate with SU colors.
2.Just lay the mesh on a piece of paper, press the versamark pad on top of it, sprinkle embossing powder over it, heat. Try this with Gold, silver and copper --BEE-YOOO-TEEE-FUL!!! (My favorite is copper). Add some accents to match (brads, eyelets, metal tags, (faux metal like in the DD gallery) and the results are eyepopping!
(some people like to just lay the mesh sticky side up and sprinkle ep over that, but I personally like to keep the sticky side to adhere it to a card - and it will come loose from the paper you put it on - don't worry about doing it over foil. Don't make this too hard! It's very easy!)
Yes, you can brayer or use classic inks, but drying and ruboff is a factor.

The above 2 methods are tried and true for me.
Just try it - you'll like it!

Thank you!!! I'm going to keep trying then I do like the idea of metalic mesh... and I guess maybe I was just being too fussy about the 'messies' LOL
I never thought of using sharpie markers! What a great idea!
You are very much appreciated!
