Aqua Pens/Blender Pens
 

I will admit that I have these in my inventory and have NO IDEA what to do with them. Can someone give me a tutorial or lead me in a direction where I can find instructions? Thanks!

I love to use my blender pen with the pastels to color in my stamped image. Just dip the blender pen in the chalk and color. So easy.

I loved the blender pens until I used the aqua pens!! I brush the blender pen across an ink pad to pick up some color. I also use the blender pen with my watercolor pencils. I simply outline the image with the pencil then run the BP over and carry the color into the image. The aqua pens are awesome for these techniques! Check out my gallery for some samples. The "Farm" cards were colored w/the BP. On the "suitable for framing" card, I used the aqua pen to color the jellyfish.

I am not an expert but I do like my blender pens. I also use them with pastels. I have found that you should dip them into one corner only- they change the texture. This allows for an untouched surface which you can still use with the applicators.

I also use them with watercolor pencils. This is one of my favorite stamping techniques. Just outline the area to be colored with a watercolor pencil. Take your blender pen and "blend" the color. Clean your blender pen by rubbing it on a clean piece of paper until it writes clean again. Clean after each color. The tip will remained stained but can still be used.

I also use my the same way but I prefer the Aqua Pen over the blender pens. They are great for watercoloring!!!

I *love* my aqua pens. I rarely even touch blender pens anymore.

What I've learned to do is "squiggle" the pen instead of using it as a "coloring" or "writing" motion. Be random.

The other thing I would strongly encourage if you haven't done so: GET SHIMMERY WHITE CARDSTOCK. OMG, what a difference it makes over Ultra Smooth...

One other thing... on the blender pens and chalks, don't touch the blender pens in the center of the chalk. Reserve one corner of the chalk for blender pens, as when chalks get wet, they get hard and won't render color for you.

Secondly, use Basic Black or Basic Brown ink for your outline for the aqua painters; they don't run when they get wet.

Thirdly (lol--and finally) you can also use the markers--take the brush end and scribble right on the lid of your stamp set, using it as a palette, and pick up the color from there. OR you can squeeze your inkpad when it is closed and when you open it, ink will be on the inside lid that you can draw color from that source, too.
