Another Embossing Question

What is in those little cloth bags that people use to rub on the paper prior to stamping & embossing? I have never used one, but they seem like a good idea if they work. I am frugal, and if there is a way I could make one for under 6 or 8 $ I would like to, I just can't figure out what the heck is in those little bags. Someone told me to rub baby powder in my paper first, but that seems kinda messy if working with dark paper.

Wax paper

In our card club we have used wax paper too. In doing so it just slicked up the surface for the stylus to move easier over the paper.

Here are a couple of homemade instructions for an embossing buddy:

From Karisma: You can also take an old baby sock (the thin type) & put cornstarch in it & knot the top.

From lezzels: I have also heard you can make your own with with cornflour ( cornstarch in USA I think) wrapped in calico

Hope that helps! :)

And BTW, if it leaves a residue on your paper, especially darker paper, use a swiffer sheet to remove it.

Thanks so much Linda. I did the baby sock w/ cornstarch and it seems to work perfect. Your're so helpful!
