Altering a composition notebook

I bought a composition notebook last night and I'd like to try to alter it. What type of adhesive is best to use? Do you have an tips for a first timer?? TIA!

I used tacky tape for everything, that way I knew it wouldn't come off. :) My only tip would be to make sure that when you cut your paper for the front and back covers, make sure that you are cutting in the proper direction if your paper has a pattern on it. (So if you want your stripes going up and down, make sure you cut the paper that way, otherwise they will be going side to side. Ask me how I know. LOL!)

You sure can. Just about any craft store has it.

I altered a comp. book in to an address for my mom's birthday. I just cut the paper down to size and then embellished. I stamped each letter on to paper and then cut each one out and added ribbon to them, or paperclips, eyelets, brads...so they were all different. It was so cute in the end. I stapled each letter directly on to the paper....so it definitely wouldn't go anywhere. Have fun. I had a lot of fun with this...and plan on doing another one soon.

From my experience, I like using Mod Podge. The only thing with that is the cardstock has to be really good quality and thick, otherwise it wrinkles a little. Hope this helps!

I usually alter the mini books, so it's Scotch Double-stick all the way.

The books I got were not cut straight so you might want to consider cutting your paper a little large and trimming it after adhering. I used the widest twill tape to cover my spine and used sticky strip (or tacky tape) to adhere it.

I love using the brown packing paper from Staples to wrap them like you used to cover your school books, then decorate that way. Really sturdy. I used sticky strip and scotch double-sided.
