altered jumbo clips
I tried my first jumbo clips. They look okay, but does anyone do anything about the gap between the front & back layers? It's hard to tell from the photos in the gallery. Any ideas?

I put a jumbo eyelet through the gap. It works so far, and I want to try some more. I used card stock, but I am curious how people make them with chipboard. Not sure how to adhere them.
God bless. |
I read on here that people are suggesting the E600 glue for adhering.

I have used foam dots between my pieces- usually three in a triangle with the paperclip between them .I also use E6000 glue on the clip, a little on each side of the clip to hold it well. I've used chipboard and cardstock both, usually chipboard on the front and just CS for the back. Keep creating!

My *gaps* do show a bit. It doesn't bother me tho. For the initial front and back bases, I used cereal box cardboard that I had ran Colorbox Chalk ink over. I glued them together w/ the clip sandwiched inbetween with E6000 glue (bought at Wal-Mart). Then I added cut out flower images cut from colored cardstock. These I glued to the bases with YES glue. I ran a silver paint pen around the edges of the flower petals and added a dot of Stickles to the flower center.
FYI.. I sanded the printed side of the cereal box base circles. These 2 sanded sides face each other (inside the gap) so you can't see the print. HTH, Sandi |
thanks for the suggestions
Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up using the SU textured cardstock and adhered it with the E6000. Then I held the sides together with binder clips until it dried. It seems to work alright. I think I might try using glue dots sometime.

I use crystal effects and it holds really good. I usually set a book on it for several hours of drying time (just to be sure).
