Altered Journals

Okay ladies, I need a little help here. I think I have the majority of this project figured out, but how do you cover the spine? Do you just spray adhesive a ribbon? I've seen some here thought htat have stammped paper covering the spine, how do you keep it from getting all wrinkly? I want to do these for MOPS next month so I would appreciate all the help I can get!

Thanks.

So tell me, do you have a template that you used? Did you cover the inside, back, and inside of the back cover? Just curious....

When I cover the spine of a journal or book I use mulberry paper or handmade paper. I cut it separate from the cover of the rest of the book and overlap it on each side. I don't try to adhere it completely to the spine but make sure it is stuck on each side.

I just lay the book down and trace around it with a pencil and cut that out or an exacto knife. I usually use the spray adhesive, but I've been reading on here what everyone else uses so I might try the other adhesives. The one I made in the past I did cover the inside with more paper, but somewhere I saw one that had a calander put in there. I'm sort of still planning out all the details for the inside. I was just having a major problem with the binding the last time I tried it. I used a wide ribbon, but I couldn't get it to stay real well.
