I believe this is the card she was talking about. It is beautiful, and we are all wondering how it was done. Maybe the person who did this could log out and write how shr did it as a guest in this post, then we can all give her credit when SS is over and we find out who she really is. Or since she is obviously not my secret sister she can pm me with the directions and I can post them for everyone. I will keep her secret. Or we can just wait for a few more months in anxious anticipation
It is absolutely beautiful! Here it is:
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. - Albert Einstein
I'm not the person who made this card - HONEST. Believe me, I'd love to take credit for it.
I know one way you can get a background like that, especially on watercolor paper. Wet the paper, apply ink, then sprinkle salt on it. After it dries, brush off the salt.
You can get a similar effect using alcohol inks. Apply the inks, then dot on an alcohol blender solution.
I love playing with background techniques. Try these.
I've seen those stamps at a local hobby store. They have the writing on them already. And the background looks like polished stone. The middle seahorse must have been either masked or stamped on paper, cut out and mounted. Hope this helps.

come to think of it, I think I have seen those stamps at A.C.Moores too. I may have to go and get those (even though they aren't SU) they make a real pretty card.

The shell is definately a stamp with the words on it.. I used it on the card I have posted in my gallery - it was from a workshop I took so can't help provide the maker. There was a companion shadow stamp as well.
OH YAH That looks like it.I think that SU can definetly handle something like this.what do you think.
