Hi
I was wondering if anyone used something other than modpodge to adhere their paper to the coasters...and if you did, what did you use? I just got the coasters and can't wait to try to make mine but dont have modpodge. Thanks for your help!
I tried the modge podge but I just hate that sticky mess. So, I tried using my craft bond glue stick with a thin line of scotch brand quick dry adhesive around the edges and it worked great! Way less messy!!! The next thing I'm gonna try is spray adhesive. I just located my can and I'm gonna try that when i have time to stamp again!
I just used plain ole Scotch Double Stick Tape!! Love that stuff...and mine is doing just fine. Also used Crystal Effects instead of E6000 to adhere the bottom and it's doing just fine (so far!).
I use modgepodge on like the mailboxes...I've also used modgepodge on the chipboard coasters and it seems to make them "bow" a little. so I use my xyron on the coasters and they lay flat.

I used SU-crystal effects. I put a small puddle of it on a scrap piece of cs and used a small artist brush to apply to the coaster. Crystal Laminate or Diamond Glaze should also work along with any double sided adhesive.
I use UHU glue stick. I get the big one that is pink (dries clear) and make sure it is applied well and all the way to the edges. I also used crystal effects for the bottom of the box.
The coasters aren't bowing too much from the UHU and the paper is def stuck down.
BTW, I LOVE those glue sticks and I use them a lot for cards, too. Cheap and effective.
I made a coaster box over the weekend and was not happy with the results. I used Mod Podge to glue the patterned paper onto the coasters, and they warped. I even had several heavy books on top of them while drying.
Any suggestions, other than using a different medium for glueing?
Maybe if you used less MP? Or a different brand--I like the Royal Coat Decoupage. It's not as wet, it dried more quickly, and it leaves fewer brush strokes. I know there's another adhesive called Perfect Paper something? that people are getting at Michaels. It's supposed to be wonderful.

Thanks.
Less is more when it comes to the modge podge! Try a thinner coating of modge podge with a foam brush. Then adhere and burnish with your bone folder
I use my ATG gun.
The MP warped my coasters.
I also tried running my paper through the Xyron and attaching to the coaster itself....that worked, but only for a couple of days. It peeled apart after that! :(
