Default glossy paper and heat embossing

Can I heat emboss on glossy paper? And is glossy paper just the same as photo paper?
Thanks!

yes you can heat emboss on glossy, here's an example

photo paper is not the same and can give disappointing results with some techniques as the top layer can peel off

I'm making my Christmas cards now and using the brayer technique on glossy paper. I'm embossing the image with clear detail embossing powder and it's coming out great! Photo paper is definately not the same.

And another tidbit...don't use photo paper when using alcohol inks. The photo paper separates and globs up. Not the same at all! Use glossy cardstock baby!

hth someone he he
