Ok Ladies, I did this, but if I admitted how long it took me, you'd all have to have me committed! I think I need to get a life! No! Wait- this IS my life! LOL! I had SO much fun with this- I really did! And for the first time I learned how to draw something in perspective. It was a struggle but I think I pulled it off. Thanks Beth, for this delightful challenge! Now I can't wait to go see what everyone else has done! What a talented bunch of stampers you all are!

Here's my card- thanks for looking!

This is the fist time I tried this technique. I spent a while wondering what sort of accessory a 'dry brush wheel' was until I realized it was actually a stampin around wheel (had to get the cattie out) - LOL.

Thanks for the idea and inspiration.

I'm so pleased how this turned out! It's easy enough for even someone as technique challenged as I am!!! However, I think my brain was not in gear - cuz I said the set was Gift of Love and it's Gift from Heaven... and I don't know how to change it. Oh well! Such is life.

The Dry Brush Wheel is one of the Stampin' Around jumbo wheels... found on page 137 of the 2006-2007 Idea Book and Catalog. It makes for a quick and easy way to create faux wood.

Have a FUNtastic day!

So- I had some leftover *floor boards* from my faux wood adventure, and I didn't want them to go to waste. What to do with the extra boards? Why roll them into logs, of course! See my 2nd submission, Snowmen Log Truck, here:

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...9523&nocache=1

And now I think I need some sleep! Thanks for looking!

Default My First Technique Challenge

This technique came just in time for the card I was making. I needed some kind of background and had remembered seeing this technique. I thought why not PINK wood! So I went for it.

Here it is: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=409625&cat=500&ppuser=39971

Default Flax wood fishing

Better late than never? I didn't have a dry brush wheel (but I did learn what they are!) so I used a 1 1/2 inch paint brush. My DH was home so I couldn't use his toothbrush. Will do again, it was easier than it looks. Thanks for the challenge.Top part of the ornament was done with the Fiskars Diamond Border Punch.

I had to make another one with white washed boards. I will take a better picture once we have actual sunlight. It's still so early here.
