I wanted to do a fun fold, but thought this would be fun for you. Did you already try to stamp with milk? It's big fun, and not very messy Here we go step 1:
You'll need milk of course, paper towel, stamps, an iron without using damp or an old iron like mine, to burn the milk and other supplies to color or embellish your card. You start by folding a paper towel in several layers and wet it with milk, this will be your stamping pad, I've used a plate to put my paper towel. I've chosen a layer stamp, so stamped the plain layer with milk using a stamping bloc. step 2: When you've stamped your image with the milk stamping pad, iron it to burn the milk, milk contains sugar so burning the milk this gives a toffee color to your image, because I've used a layer stamp I stamped the second and last layer with ink, I've used walnut stain distress and olive green Versafine.
step 3:
Add color and details, I've added a bird stamped with crimson red , I've used water color pencils and water to color the bird and added a bit of color to my leaves. Finish your card and have fun.
I've tried to make another with a stencil, it works too, you use the paper towel soaked with milk and go over the stencil tapping the paper lightly then you iron and finish your card
You can use also an embossing folder, sponge a bit of milk over the paper of course not too wet, and iron it slightly.
Remember to use the keyword TLC787 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
As I had a sneak preview of the challenge, I started yesterday after I'd done the household ironing. I still have to produce a card. I do encourage you to try it. Seeing the image emerge reminded of standing beside my dad in the darkroom watching the photographs develop as if by magic.
My top tips... don't over-milk your pad - I did, and had to add another piece of kitchen towel.
I needed to use the iron at its hottest setting to get a good result.
Don't burn your fingers! Hot paper is hot enough to burn ;-).
Have fun. Thanks, Anita. I certainly enjoyed this very much.
And here's a super-quick one. Got the housework done, but I want to try cycling 4 or 5 miles to make sure that I could get in to work without collapsing if I try that tomorrow!
