Default TLC780 ~ Taking Centre Stage ~ {02/03/2020}

Happy Monday to you all. Goodness, it feels to me as if January flew past in the blink of an eye. I'm sure you agree that our new hostesses, Jean and Anita, came up with great challenges for us, and I enjoyed the push Lyn's one gave me to revisit a technique that I enjoy but don't gravitate towards.

I know today's Center Stage technique will not be everybody's cup of tea, but I was thrilled to see it in the Inkling two weeks ago, and I'm not going to wait until it's my turn to present a new technique - I'll find something else before then. Some time back Jen uploaded a sweet card, and referenced Dina's blog, which I promptly checked out - and left a comment saying I hoped she would be featuring it here. Thank you, Dina.
As a bonus, her card brought back childhood memories - some of the films my dad used to screen for us included Charlie Chaplin, along with Laurel & Hardy.

Yes, this will require masking. But you could make it easy - it doesn't have to be a person or character taking centre stage. It could be a spotlight on something that would be super-easy to mask, like a crystal or gem, or a lovely china vase. Think of a display case in a museum, for example. I do hope you'll give it a try - I had enormous fun with mine, and DH was intrigued to see where the masking was going to take me, as I cut out the mask and drew in the stage floor downstairs.

 Here's the link to Dina's tutorial in our Tutorials section, along with a video for those who prefer: Center Stage

Here's a link to our TLC780 Taking Centre Stage gallery

Here's my card: If the gallery bugs are still in force, I'll add my card in the next post.

 Remember to use the keyword TLC780 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.

 If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE. If the site bugs have been squashed, you'll have a perfect link.

OK - site problems still ongoing, so I'm not going to break the challenge post by trying to add my card into it...

Love this technique so much! I've made three of these cards and will happily make a fourth and possibly fifth :0)

Fun challenge, Sabrina....and it seemed to work for a card that I needed to make.  Thanks.

Whew! Outside of my comfort zone for sure, but I gave this a try. I knew how I wanted this all to work, and was sad when my masking paper ripped the paper - very close to the end of all of the effort. (I purchased some a YouTuber recommended as a budget option...maybe not a good choice in this scenario) I may try this again, but, I still think it turned out cute enough to give to a recipient. https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2968286?cat=500&ppuser=241240
I do love Mama Elephant stamps and these penguins in particular. Thanks for looking!
