Well, I just got home and was looking to see what everyone had accomplished. I can see this is going to be a big challenge, for me at least, so I will start on it after dinner tonight. Thanks for answering my question about the technique...I can see where stamping first would cause a problem! So, at least I can avoid that error. Thanks for the suggestions and ideas.

Yep, straight scissors and vanilla cardstock are definitely easier! My second (and last) card.

Thanks, Beth, for a fun challenge!

Default Basket of Flowers

Here's my attempt at weaving. It was fun, not so difficult. I used regular tape to hold one end of papers down as I wove. Then at the other end I taped it again with reg. tape. Then stamped on the basket and added brads and flowers.

Here's my 2nd try at weaving -- it's been pending for about 2 hours, and my first one was pending for almost 2 1/2 hours -- I don't know why -- but anyway, here's the link:

Here are the dimensions we used in a Hostess Club a few months ago when doing woven cards :
4 Vertical Strips:
1 at 3 3/4 inches
2 at 3 3/8 inches
1 at 2 3/4 inches
5 Horizontal Strips:
1 at 4 1/2 inches
2 at 4 inches
1 at 3 11/16 inches
1 at 3 1/16 inch

This should give you a total of 9 half inch strips and it's helpful to trace around your grid once you are happy with the layout ( for future cards ) and to use contrasting paper for the vertical strips.
Here is a card I did a while back ( pending still ) :
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=313248&cat=500&ppuser=17187

and another I just did :

Great to have a challenge to kickstart a "have to make" card!!! This was a fun technique, and the closest I had ever done like this before was helping my DD with her Tear it Up challenge during June VSN.
Here is my woven creation.

Here is mine. Not sure I'm thrilled with it, so may have to try again. I decided not to stamp on the weave, but did polished stone instead to give it some texture.

Default My first technique challenge...

...I really enjoyed this! Weaving was a great way to use some scraps. I had been planning to make a card with paper potato chips and my new ant stamp. This was a great opportunity to pull a lot of ideas together and try a new technique. The barely banana paper was cut into an oval, stamped, crimped with a wavy crimper, and curled for dimension to resemble a potato chip.
