I can't believe that I just saw this on HA's website and was dying to try it!!!
I am so glad that school is over and I can actually do a challenge again!

I wonder if it will work to use a transparency and spray adhesive from a can? All I have is a tiny little xyron. I'll be back with a report and hopefully an upload or two! Yea!

Well, talk about a lesson in frustration!!! Ugh! This took me most of the day to come up with any presentable images. I kept getting basically colorless images. I tried cheap background paper, su paper (actually got a good image with that), an off-brand contact paper (did not work at all). I finally got a few good images using laminating sheets & magazine ads. But the flowers and butterfly are barely even translucent. I almost gave up and let some sticky paper and ink beat me. I should have put a background on it, but I had to use spray adhesive in order to stick my images down (directions: spray, wait 1-2 minutes & adhere within 5 min. of spraying); oops, no time to do a background. Thus, the sentiment on the card! Here's my (non) transparent butterfly.

Here's another one. Much easier to do on a smaller scale (3x3 card).

This was a fun technique! I had to lighten my image up, the scanner really darkened it to the point of yuck! IRL it's a bit darker then here:

Here are my experimentation results:
Yes, spray adhesive will work if you cut your transparency out, put it on a piece of scrap paper or newsprint, spray LIGHTLY with the craft adhesive then let it set up. However, the xyron worked a little better because it gave an even coating. But, for those of you who don't have an xyron, the spray stuff will also work fine!

Here is my first card for this challenge! I just had to use some buttons thanks to that awesome tutoral on the Hero Arts site:

Lynn, your card turned out fantastic! I'd just like to add for those of you having some frustration.....try to soak the paper a bit longer if it's a bit thicker. It just takes more time for the thicker stuff to get waterlogged enough to start disintigrating. It does help.

This was another fun challenge. I had problems with the Stazon rubbing off the packing tape on my first batch of flowers. I reversed the steps and applied the paper & rubbed it off, then stamped the images & cut them out and it seemed to work ok.

Here is my card...

Hi Everyone - I have been on vacation and it looks like I have missed a lot of good things to do. This sounds like a very interesting technique thanks Beth for giveing us another super challenge. I am off to see if I can figure out how to do this with the supplies I do have on hand.

Here's a goofy question - Should you be able to get all the paper off or just enough that you can sort of see through the transparency?

I have been looking at this technique and all of the lovely cards you all have made.....believe me, when I say that they are all outstanding! Tonight I sat down and worked on the technique....had a little trouble at first, but then conquered it....I think! LOL! I did make a card and will post it in the morning....just too tired to take a pic of it now....off to bed. This is a most talented group with so much originality....proud to be a part of it!

I just uploaded my card, so it may be still pending. I know it's not a flower, but hope you can look past that ...

Here is my frst try at this technique. You can't really see the polka dot paper under the flowers. I don't have many stamps with large open areas. I have a cowboy hat. I will try with that. Thanks for the mew technique.

Well, I had such fun with this technique that I just had to make another card and "practice" what I had learned on the first one. I, also, made some cute fishes to use later using Fishy Friends....this set works great for this technique!

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=22386

On the sunflowers, after the transparency dried, I added color with SU markers from the underneath side as the flowers were "pale".

I tried packing tape this time and it seemed easier than the Xyron. It cut out a step so it didn't seem to take as long. Here are my to cards: Bucket of Flowers

Here's a new twist...for those of you without scrapbook or background paper or those who just have to use real SU colors! I tried putting the sticky transparency flower down onto stamped WWhite paper, it came out great. I like the pattern showing through and it stayed really transparent. See what I mean:

Once you upload your picture into the gallery, go to the image and click on it. Even if it hasn't been approved you'll have a link at the top in the address box. Copy that and paste it into your post in the challenge section you're doing. Let me know if that makes sense or if you need more help.
