Default TLC57 emboss resist

I had so much fun doing my first card I had to do another after work. Covered the Hodgepodge with Craft Apricot Appeal then clear EP. IRL it turned out pretty good. The Happy Birthday inside shows up much better IRL as well. I really like this technique and will keep using this technique again. I love our weekly challenges. They really get me motivated.
Thanks,
Wendy

OK...I've done it! I owe Beth A HUGE Thank you for this challenge today, because it made me venture out and try something new for me. I also want to Thank Jeanne, because I kinda CASED her card...mine isn't nearly as good, but still good for me! And I also want to thank Lisa Loisell (not sure I spelled her name correctly), because she took the time to PM me today and answer the question I had asked earlier today about embossing...thank you LISA! So, here is my card:

I got one done, this little baby was time consuming but not just because of this technique I also did bleaching and that black edge is a time consumer too!
Thanks Beth, you sure have come up with some great techniques!

Here's my card

I really wanted to try this challenge, but I don't have any glossy white yet, so I substituted Shimmery White and I couldn't think of a way to use the VersaMark emboss resist, so I used Interference Gold Pearl Ex on the background after stamping Print Pattern with VersaMark. So it's kind of what the challenge rules are. TFL

Here's the correct challenge using both resist techniques. The first card I did I only used versamark resist. I love the effect with both together! Thanks again, Beth!!!

Just received a RAK from my friend Autumn and thought I use the challenge to send a thank you rak back. She always likes autumn colors so I used that to create my card today. Used the polished stone idea to apply the layer of color: alcohol, cotton ball ,and reinkers smeared across the glossy white. I like the double tone of color. It uploaded twice so if my link doesn't work I'll fix it later.

Default TLC57 more emboss resist

OK I am really having fun with this technique. Used very delicate colors with this card. Didn't scan well but I really like how it turned out. Quite feminine actually and simple. Hope you like it. I must quite now or my DH will pull the plug on my computer.

I just couldn't let it go -- so I had to try one more! I seem to struggle w/cutsie cards, so I thought I would give it one more try:

Love both of these reisists and love them more together. Wish I had white grograin ribbon. Would have shown up better than what I used.I do love how the resists turned out. Here's my card http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=36846

Beth, I love Mondays! Your challenges are great, but I really bombed on this one. I sponged and sponged, and just couldn't get it right. This was #3 that I tried, so maybe we can use it as an example of what NOT to do? Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'd have helped you out, but I had similar questions as you did. I'm still trying to figure it out. Maybe someone will PM me?? I read the entire thread hoping to find an answer...all I found were some splendid techniques. I feel like i'm tied up in a corner. Someone help me understand. I get the emboss resist part. I'm really confused about the versamark resist.

My double resist card

First I stamped words, then embossed flowers in clear; and then crackle image with versa mark. I brayered different colors over-all. The scan makes the old olive card stock a lot brighter than it really is.

I deliberately did not look at samples before making the card...I always end up making a card that looks like someone else's LOL! Now I'm off to go look at samples.

Thanks for looking

Thumbs up Thanks, Beth!

Thanks for the fun challenge! I am just getting back into town after 4 glorious days with the family at the beach, and need to catch up before I can play.

Here is something from my gallery that uses the VM resist technique.
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=36777

The colors are pretty washed out by the scan, though.....

Sure missed my stamping friends on SCS! Looking forward to burning some rubber here real soon!

Thanks for the tip to let the versamark dry before brayering. When I tried this technique before I was not successful and I'm guessing that's why.

Here is my card for Resist Resist:

Thanks for the great idea of combining the two techniques! TFL!

Thank you to the ladies who took the time to PM me. I fully understand it now but I'm still tied up in a corner (now it's my schedule) and won't be able to try it until late tonight. I can't wait to see how it turns out, I love embossing. If I can actually get something uploaded it will be my first challenge ever. The samples all you ladies have posted are simply amazing. Thanks everyone for the inspiration.

Arggghhh! I give up! I've spent two days looking for my glossy paper & it is no where to be found. I tried using some glossy photo printing paper from the computer, and the embossed part worked fine, but the plain VersaMark resist didn't work at all (the ink dried to fast or something, no resisting too place).
Well, maybe I'll go search one more time. I really want to try this!
