My first challenge! Yea. ~ Iím rather new to card making so I havenít yet developed the ability to just pick up paper & stamps and put everything together so I make something Iíd want to give someone instead of throwing away. I just hope Iím not using a walker before I get the hang of it.

Anyway, here is my first attempt at melting crayons. What fun!

This one has some melted crayon layers. The pink is non-SU (didn't want to experiment on the good stuff) which I wet & crumpled then brushed with black crayon. The dark gray behind it is black and gray crayon, but you can't see much of it. I have more that I will have to post later.

I have teenagers--they've graduated to markers and paints and all my inks so when I looked for crayons I could only find 5--gray, white, black, yellow, and red. Here's what I came up with:

This card was so much fun to make. My DD is 4 and this was a swap for us to do together. DD melted the crayon and picked out the stamps, 4 SETS, that I did not think went together. But we used all 4. She also wanted charms on it, so we matched the butterfly from the background. Of course we had to use glitter so the giraff sparkles. I think it turned out great from the guidence of a 4 year old

IVI AND I

THANKS FOR LOOKING.

This challenge really stumped me for a long time. I had to take some time to make it work but in the end I like how it turned out.

I don't know why, but I don't usually play the technique challenge on the day it is issued. I did do the melted crayon on the day it was issued, but didn't quite know what to do with my pieces of crayon "art" right away. I finally figured it out.

It was funny--my DD is a teen now, and I had to hunt for crayons. I wanted blue and green. The only crayons we had in the house were black, red, yellow, gray and white. They turned out okay anyway.

While ironing, the technique for melted crayons background came to mind. Laundry was interrupted for my first attempt at this technique. Thanks Beate! What fun..gotta get more crayons!

I ended up making several of these with my sister and husband. We all had a good laugh. I think this one is my favorite!
