Well heres my confession: I have to iron clothes for work later this evening so the thought of playing with the iron wasn't too appealing. After stalking the thread and all, lol. So instead I did what I do best: went to Hobby Lobby and bought more stuff. Now I am praying that Jami doesn't see this thread, lol !! The second thing I do best is cheerlead for all of you when you stamp, which I have done on all the cards posted so far for the challenge.

Okay, I took it out of the trash, added some embossing powder and an image, a little heated ribbon stem, and here ya' go! Not so bad, I guess. Of course it looks better irl, but, don't they all? lol

I had so much fun doing this challenge! I'm not sure I really like my card but I had fun anyway. I decided to do it like the Faux Cloissonne. I stamped the flowers in Versamark and embossed with silver ep. I also put micro beads in the centers but they don't show up on the scan. I tried to do the TLC51 with my ribbon but I had to do it 3 times and each time I burned holes in it. lol!
Here it is...

Wow!! I got to play & upload...
Had such fun doing the melted crayon..
I should learn to read, it said background.
I used the crayon for my main images.
Then it said to put TLC52 in keywords, guess what I did do that either.
Thanks for Looking

After seeing all the gorgeous cards from everyone else, I can tell I really need to work on my technique! But I can also see potential for all my 'mud'. I'll have to see what else I can come up with using some of those.

I can't get enough of this challenge. The blue in this one reminded me of a storm out at sea. So I used the lighthouse from always on my mind. Let me know what you think.

Great challenge - good thing I didn't try this for VSN though 'cause I would never have made the 45 minute deadline. Great technique to share with others though.

Here's my first attempt. I found it took a couple of tries to get just the background I wanted. At first I ended up with some little globs (the technical term, I'm sure) at one end, but while the crayon was still warm on the paper I just rubbed it lightly with my hand & they rubbed right off. This did leave my hand a bit purple, though.
I'm definately going to try some more!

Default TLC52 I'll Melt for You

I was very nervous trying this new technique. But, I wrapped my iron with heavy duty foil and went for it. I ended up just cutting out a portion of the CS I made from the crayons. Stamped and cut out the Lily in the Ageless Adorment set. I thought the crayon colors I used would go well with this stamp..
Hope you like it.

Here's my last one of this challenge. This really is a toughy! I don't know how some of you were able to get such nice combinations! This was really fun trying. My dh thought I was nuts melting crayons on my iron!
Thanks again for challenging our creativity Beth!

Well, I tried but so far, I've only come up with mudd!! My DH said if my goal was for my "art" to look like my five year old did it, it was met, but if not, better keep practicing (he then told me that it proved how much he loved me 'cause he wasn't blowing smoke up my skirt and telling me my melted mess looked good!!) Think I need to step back and tackle this at a different time!! LOL!! Who would have thought that that melting crayons would be such a challenge?!!

Well, I don't care what Melody says about her card being muddy...that's the cutest darn thing I've seen in days!

I tried some different colors and one looks like a big yellow hairy foot with half his big toe missing but DH didnít see the foot at all. He thinks my last card has a killer bug so Iíve decided we are not artistically compatible. He did not however say a word when he saw me melting crayons with the iron and I was really waiting for his remarks too. He's getting used to me doing strange things!
This card reminds me of the meadow on the farm I grew on in Kansas - not to far from where Pam/pammyrn lives.

Hereís my Meadowscape

Are you all stamping directly on the crayon with black? how are you getting such good coverage???

I made mine by stamping on acetate with Stazon and attaching with eyelets.

Yes I stamped with StazOn directly onto the crayon surface, it takes a while to dry so if you're impatient like me have another project you can be working on during the drying time or you'll end up smearing it. I do hate waiting for it. Even with StazOn I had to hit the image a couple times on some of them.

I'll give some tips on the landscape later but I'm leaving the house five minutes ago to meet my stamping buddy...she has new stuff for me...WAHOO!

Here is my TLC52, melted crayon. A very magical technique. I did a little bit of swirl and dabbing with the iron onto glossy white paper. I was really happy with the results. I think it looks like water and sky. Our friends SIL is just back from a year in Iraq and now Kyle and Sarah are in Hawaii for their belated honeymoon. We are all soooo happy to have Kyle home safe and sound. Enjoy, Nancy Pending 12:45 p.m. PST

Well My DD and I spent the afternoon playing with the crayons and making backgrounds yesterday but we never actually got around to making any cards with them! So today after the kids all (finally) went back to school I spent some quiet time making a few cards with our fun crayon backgrounds. Here are the 2 I made (the green is my favorite!):
Green funky flower
Blue crayon Castle

And here is the one DD finished this afternoon:
Aqua Jellyfish (still pending as of 5:20 pm mtn)

This was a fun challenge...I dont usually do the technique challenges but I see Im gonna have to give them a try more often!!

Default Am I too late?

On Monday night I decided to be brave take my first challenge...how hard could it be? Well, it's Wednesday and I just uploaded my card so I guess it was harder than I thought. I'll definately need to pick up some speed if I ever hope to attempt a VSN.

I loved this technique, but found it very tricky to stamp on the melted crayon. So here it is, hope you like it:

Well take a look and let me know

Confession...at parent/teacher conferences since no one visits the music or art teachers we decided to get an iron out and try out all of the art teacher's old crayons. Woohoo! We had a blast.
