Here is my submission. This was a fun challenge. Never would have known about this technique without this great forum.
Thanks,
Wendy

Default Here's Mine!!

This is the first one that I did and would you believe that the glue is STILL drying?!?! It's been forever! I goofed up however and read the directions as adding the glue around the whole intire inside and it was the wrong side to add it to anyway!! Needless to say, my smaller beads all fell out! These are so neat though! I think adding a picture would be a neat gift too! Hmmmm

My link to my second one will be here shortly

My first submission, sure hope I'm doing this right. This was a lot of fun - I kept losing my little confettis too until I saw the little slots in the side of the CD case that are now covered with dots. Also had a lot of them stuck in the glue when I got impatient and started shaking it.

Have really enjoyed looking at all of yours.

I made two for Valentine's cards for the grandkids. The scans are not very good. It was fun, but a little frustrating. The tiny beads kept falling out! I finally had to put foam tape under the stamped cardstock to lift it up to cover the little holes.

Default Another one done!

Well, I just had to do it! There's a very lengthy explanation in the gallery with this one. The basketball will actually go through the hoop. I don't know if it quite classifies as a shaker card, because the only loose item is the basketball. But anyway, here's my basketball shaker.

I didn't use glue on this one, but the paper on the outside is stuck on with tacky tape, so the cd isn't going to come open. I think, since these are so large, if we only put larger pieces inside, the glue is unnecessary. I really hate the smell of the E6000 and you can smell it for days after you use it.

you'll have to wait a little longer, my friend! It is still sitting down on my craft table, waiting to be assembled..... today was my kids' last day of winter break. I should have some time tomorrow to get it together.

BTW, I *love* what I'm seeing already! You go, girls!

All this talk about glue got me thinking I should post what I did ...

I used my Xyron! The top and bottom have a strip of paper Xyron'd over the holes so the beads don't fall out and then the paper around the whole thing attaches perfectly. Also, I didn't have any fun foam (can't stand the smell of that stuff!) so I used 4 layers of matboard.

So, anyone with a Xyron, I'd recommend using that instead of any type of glue!

I have only done one shaker card in my life, but after finishing this one I am hooked for life! Can't wait to do another as a mini scrapbook page, the "frame" is square and the price is afforable! Will be doing this one at my next stamp camp for sure! Thanks for looking!

Well, I finally took a picture of mine. I think the problem for me was finding what I needed and what to do my shaker of. I planned it around patterned paper that I thought I had. Well, after stamping and getting to that point - I realized after much searching that I must have dreamed of buying the paper!!! UGH!! My first "real" time using micro beads too - man they are fast little suckers!! I had them everywhere!!

I will post my picture to the gallery tomorrow - I am tired and need to get some sleep. So, I will attach it here for now.

Default I made 3!!!

This was fun! I bought some at Sam's Club. They are thinner so you cant remove the inside, but you don't have to worry about using that glue to seal it or fill the "hole". I just used sticky strip and put ribbon around it to finish it off. Since its so thin it doesn't make for a good "shaker" tho-

One is for a baby it has a calendar w/month and date just circle when baby is born. You could personalize it too with a name so they can put it in the child room.

The Best Blossom one is a TY for a friend. I used the color scheme of her living rm, and made it so she can "display" it.

The Love without end was the first one I did. Personally I hate it but figured since it was the first one I'd share it.

What a fun challenge! Thanks Beth! Now I understand what the glue is for! To seal up all those little holes! Microbeads and buttons in the floor once I decided to shake it! Time to pull out the vacuum!

Hi all I have just uploaded my first technique challenge and first upload to the gallery section. I enjoyed playing with the cd case, do american CD cases have slits in the sides of the cases where the cover normally goes (I had to cover these so that nothing would fall out of the case.

Beth, I am so sorry. This is the first time I've come back here to check. I got so caught up in VSN and then I needed to recuperate & get some 'other stuff' done & had to work yesterday....

I love your shaker. But the link seemed to bring me right back to this page. So I clicked on your gallery link to find it instead.

I was so impressed with the way tashers did her shaker: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=13844
That I used it for my inspiration using the set Monkey Business. This is a RAK for a gal that could use some cheering up:
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...d.php?t=108079

I'm going to upload it in the morning but thought I'd share it within this thread too. I used heart shaped buttons and rhinestones for the shaker part. I decided to also adhere some of the buttons on the part ot the cardstock where the 2 pieces overlapped...I put a little 3.25 x 3.25 card with the Nature's Secret "Faith" stamp on the back inserted in a glassine envy.. TFL!
