I totally lucked out. I have freezer paper, napkins and my mom was doing ironing last night anyway so everything was there for me. This is my first technique challenge so I'm kind of excited with how it turned out. It's not quite as pretty as some of the ones I've seen, but I'm proud of it none the less. Hope you guys like it!

No luck yet.....

Well, I'm just going to have to get some freezer paper. I have some gorgeous napkins and had visions of sugarplums and gorgeous cards in my head last night.

Tried grovcery bags from two different stores (ya neva know) and also plastic food wrap. Didn't work. This will have to wait a day or two but I'm very eager to try it!

This is a super cool idea! I'm thinking on making my sister a couple of those boxes that fall open when you take the lid off and scrapping her 5 y.o. pics and one for my new born niece. I can make the 5 y.o. a "birthday" box and have her b-days highlighted... I'll have to see if I can find extras of all her b-day napkins My sister keeps everything so I probably can!

Really, really love this technique! Thanks so much for sharing it!

My 2nd attempt is for the Chemo Angels and can be found here: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=177892

It was much easier the second time around ...

Thanks for looking!

This looks like a lot of fun and the cards - WOW! But I, like many others don't have the pretty napkins, but they are on the grocery list.

Okay, I'm hooked on this technique! Can you tell?!!!

Skipped the freezer paper and used spray mount. Worked like a charm.

My card is here: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...09522?cat=8590

3rd card for the challenge and the 6th for the Chemo Angels. Let the countdown begin ... 4 to go! And the clock is ticking ...

Thanks for looking!

I have some spray mount, but I was afraid it would be difficult to get it to lie straight without wrinkling. I have a couple of different kinds... krylon, and craft bond. What kind did you use, and do you have any helpful hints?

I STILL don't have any freezer paper but am dying to try it!

Thanks!

Try it with decorative tissue paper, or stamp your own design on white tissue. It works just great!!!!!!!!!!!

I could've gone hog wild at Target last night -- lots of paper napkins to choose from... I found this one instead, tucked away in a closet.

I had a need for a more patriotic card so I used this napkin left over from Constitution Day. I think it turned out fine. Here is my card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=156271.

Great technique, Lynn! I was playing cards and the hostess had these gorgeous fall napkins so I knew I had to give this technique a try. Here's mine:

Red face napkin technique

I haven't done this technique in years, but always loved it. I used the napkins to make my own envelopes. I'd find a napkin at specialty or kitchen shops that sorta matched a stamp set I had, then I created a matching or coordinating card. Using the napkin (and freezer paper) I made a matching envelop. I would mail my card and pretty envelop in a clear envelop. It was so much fun.

Another alternative you might try is using a clear dry cleaner's bag to adhere the napkin to a piece of cardstock for your card or envelop. You use a warm iron to do this. It melts easier than saran wrap. I used the cleaner bags when I use to applique designs on denim or sweat shirts.

If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]

good luck
Doris

Finally!!! I got some freezer paper and it worked like magic. I paired this with a featured stamper challenge - the card I cased and the design I chose was perfect for my napkin. Here it is:

I've been running everywhere trying to find freezer paper so I could try this technique and I'm so happy I finally found some. All the creations in the gallery are fabulous and I'm really happy with the way mine turned out too! Thanks for such a great technique Lynn. I made 3 cards from one napkin and my iron hasn't seen this much use in a long time. Here's my trio:

Here is my card (5 months later): All the Gifts Life Could Send

I don't usually buy printed napkins, but last Fall at my painting class, my instructor had some left over; she let me take one home so I could make a card for the TLC192 (Paper Napkin Transfer) challenge, but I didn't get around to it until today's WT211 challenge. Now, when I go to painting on Wednesday evening, I can finally show her what I made. DH even thought it looked pretty neat!

Thanks for looking.
