Copy paper = text weight...some thin paper just used to protect your iron.

Yeah, that was sooo fun and easy...now I'm going to be scalping paper napkins wherever I go! LOL

I did use saran wrap...didn't have parchment paper! But it worked great!

I followed your excellent tutorial...my little ones and I enjoyed watching it! They all wanted to try it, too Now that I have the napkin part, I'll be ready to make the card hopefully this afternoon!

Parchment paper will not work for this technique. There is nothing on the parchment paper that would help adhere the napkin to it...kwim? Just want to clarify this in case someone is thinking of using it.

Thanks for the great technique! I had not heard of this before. I used the plastic wrap version...just a store brand and it worked great. Here is my card...

I was so excited to find a use for the tin FULL of old, but too pretty to throw away, napkins. Darn if I don't have freezer paper. The wax paper gives you a lovely well-ironed napkin, well-ironed wax paper, and typing paper that looks greasy but no adhering takes place! I wonder if one could sprinkle a little heat and stick powder down on the wax paper or a white lunch sack before putting down the napkin? Too bad I don't have that either! I'll have to get some of that freezer paper soon! Thanks for the technique, Lynn.

The wax paper won't work, and neither will the typing paper. The typing paper is only to protect your iron as you iron the freezer paper and napkin together. You wouldn't want any waxy stuff to get on your iron....and by waxy stuff, I'm not referring to wax paper, but the shiny surface on the reverse side of the freezer paper. does that make sense?

After viewing this gallery, I'll be stalking the dollar store for some pretty napkins and freezer paper. This looks so fun to do. I can't wait to try. Now let me think... do I own an iron? Ah, yeah, somewhere in the depths of the basement. What a reason to dig it out! Thanks Lynne for a new technique to try.

What a great technique!!!
I didn't have butcher's paper so I used a piece of waxed paper to put the separated napkin against and brushed a gel medium (modge podge) over top. Once dry, I used a knife to slide under the napkin and lift it from the paper. The end result is nice and shiny. Here's my card:

I have been waiting to use these napkins from my mom! They always seemed too nice to use for wiping faces So, now I have a new use for them and a reason to use my bold brights, which I don't often use....
When I was sewing the edges, one side got a little puckery; maybe it wasn't ironed quite enough...

Here's mine. It needs lots of work. All I could think about was a nice fall card, and wouldn't ya know...I didn't have any fall napkins. Oh well, I tried, and I'll keep practicing. Thanks for looking!

I live in small town/rural Ontario and I found some Reynolds Freezer paper this morning at our local Zehr's supermarket. It comes in a roll of 18 inches wide and 50 feet long and if you didn't already have some and have to buy it, you'll never need to buy any again! The roll is that big!

I have spend hours looking. These are each and every one fa-bu-lous! I cannot wait until I do mine tomorrow. I found out I had used all my freezer paper on my best patterns. I do that and then hang them on a skirt hanger.

Now, I need more!

How fun! Luckily for me, my parents gave me a package of pork chops double-wrapped in freezer paper! And I've had the napkins for YEARS and never opened the package. So, here is my card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...08191?cat=4678 Thanks for the challenge, and thanks for checking out my card.

Wow, looks like a fun technique!

I have not bought freezer paper for years since I got a FoodSaver sealing machine thingy, got tired of freezer-burned meats! I will try and remember to snag some from my mom next time I visit, this goes on my to-do technique list!

Thanks so much for this hint. I'm going to try it! I KNEW if I read far enough through the chat thread someone would have an alternative that worked!

And Lynn, thank YOU for another fantastic challenge! I'm going to try it in the morning!
