This was a CHALLENGE for sure. My goopy hands are proof , but I was determined to do something. I have never had much success playing with acetate, it always turns wonky on me, but I like the results of this project.

I started by mixing white craft re-inker with my SU re-inkers of the new IN colors...tangerine and red riding hood? ...note to self, memorize new IN colors !!!

I then mixed in bronze perfect pearls, painted with my aqua painter since I didn't have a stipple brush, and waited for it to dry. It never really did, so I stuck a piece of the riding hood red paper behind it, and embossed it. I used glue dots to hold in place while I attached brads, then I beat them up with a hammer. It's not the exact guidelines, but it was fun, and I kind of got the results. Guess I need to get me some Lumiere!

Here is my card:

Thanks for sharing, since Walmart is the only place I can buy craft supplies without having to drive over an hour.

This is a really cool technique but probably one of the hardest I have done. I had so many failed attempts it is not funny. The biggest problem is that I did not have lumiere so if I did I am sure it would not have been bad. I tried shimmerz paint but it is too thin and transparent. I tried acrylic and pearl ex- that is still drying so I will upload that later. For this one it is a combo of pearl ex, versamark and shimmerz. When I was adhering the acetate some of the "paint" stuck to the adhesive LOL. So I did use brads and it was the only way to get the acetate to the CS. Well enough chatter- here is mine:

I have the Lumiere (only used it once before so glad to find a reason to get it out!) but I don't know if I have the patience to let it dry!! I'll be trying this tonight after work!

When you say acetate what do you mean? I have several different "weights" of clear plastic that I use for various craft projects. How thick or thin should it be? I have everything else to try this technique and am quite excited.

Thanks for the challenge and what a challenge it was! I still don't have a card I'm happy with, but I've no more time to work on it today, so posted this one. This was difficult for me and I have no idea why....

I'm not sure what to tell you because I only have one type of acetate, and it's not real thin, but not extremely thick either. I'm not much help. Perhaps someone can chime.

Thumbs up

After quick some searching ... at last I found my too-well-placed bottle of Lumiere this afternoon. Whew! I was so intrigued with your challenge today, Lynn, that I had to go on one of those searches that leaves its own mess behind! hahaha Thanks for a cool technique today, Lynn!

After 3 attempts with this technique... here's my card.

My Lumiere was all dried up but I was able revive it by adding small amounts of water, letting it sit for a while, stirring, and repeating that process about 100 times. What a challenge!!!

Finally have mine finished. I didn't have Pearlex - or Lumiere - but I DID have something that I thought might work. It took a little more time to finish - but I think the result looks the same.
Here's my card.

Thanks Lynn, for a great technique. When I first saw the directions for it, I was a bit apprehensive about even trying it, but once I got everything together and started in on it, I found that it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. The substitutions worked great, and it was as easy as you said it would be, once I got the hang of it. I would definitely try it again.

Thanks for hosting, Lynn, and for sharing such a wonderful technique. I was so pleased with the results that I hated affixing any layers over it. My card is here.
