Wow---I have not seen this one before. This is a really cool technique. I can definitely see myself using it time and time again. Thanks for hosting and suggesting it. Hopefully I will get to play with it soon.

I really enjoyed this one, here comes my try http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0630?nocache=1 TFL

I also did not have this stamp-a-ma-jig, ... I just aligned the stamp with the side and bottom of the paper and then moved the dark part in for 1mm from the bottom and the side.... and it worked

QUite Dandy Blue
I had another go.
I had several more goes , but this is the only one that made it onto a card.
I still love the effect, it is just so like embossing filters in graphics I can't get over it. I know, I said that before...

I enjoyed this new technique but had to do it twice before succeeding. In my piture my ribbons are aligned straight, they must have moved when I was setting it up to photograph. So please just try to image evenly spaced ribbons. LOL

Well after spending 3 hours in my craft room trying this technique and uploading a card I'm really not happy with (please don't go look at it now...its quite embarrassing! LOL!) I just had an "UH! DUH!" moment. No matter what I tried I couldn't get that "Embossed" look. It just look like I stamped my image twice. But after looking in the gallery I realized the error of my ways: I was suppose to stamp the second time with the same ink color as my cardstock. I kept trying white with a different color than my cardstock, or white on white, and nothing was working. The example card looked like white on white and said to 'stamp the image using your classic ink" so I mistakingly thought that was white ink again (even though I realize Stampin Up!s white ink is craft ink, not classic ink). So to save someone else all this trouble, if you haven't already made your card yet, learn this hard lesson from me and don't make the same mistakes I did. (Although there is probably no one out there as stupid as me. LOL!) Off to make another card...the correct way! LOL!

You know...doing stuff like this is how "happy accidents" happen, and brand new techniques are born. Never be afraid of experimenting (even if it is by accident)...you never know what you may discover!

This is a blast! I decided to try it for my project for PTI's blog hop tonight, since my first project did not turn out as I intended! Since the blog hop hasn't started yet, I'm gonna wait to upload my pic here until later, but in the meantime, you can see it at my blog link below. TFL! Thanks for the great challenge Lynn - I'm definately gonna try it again later tonight.

I think I remember seeing this technique somewhere a long while back but I don't remember trying it. What a cool idea. It took a little practice, but I like the way the final product came out. Here is my card for this challenge.

Thanks Lynn for the wonderful challenge. At first I didn't think I would be able to play, because I didn't have a stamp-a-ma-jig. Then I found the tutorial on how to make a stamp-ma-jig using duplo blocks. I was all set to use my made stamp-ma-jig so I looked for which image I would use. I knew I wanted one that was fairly large with not a lot of detail. I decided to use one of my flowers. I stamped it on the acetate and was all ready to stamp it on my cardstock when the light bulb went off in my head. DUH! The stamp is a clear one and I was using a clear block. Why not just eyeball it and look through the block. ... So here is my card.

I hope someone can learn from my MISTAKE!!!!

very nice card. Isn't it amazing how sometimes it just takes awhile for that light bulb to come on?!

O.K. so my stamped try at this technique sucked!!!! So.....pull out the good old rub on's and voila -they worked. The picture has a blurry background (not sure why this keeps happening).
