Holy Moly! Awesome technique...I'll be using this A LOT, especially since my budget just can't stretch far enough for me to get all the Cuttlebug folders I want....

So, with that in mind, I used the technique to make a BACKGROUND panel, and TATTOO on ELLE! LOL

Here's today's submission!

Sorry I quit reading right before post #34. I do have a huge t-square but no legos. Sorry but my baby just turned 33 so all toys are long gone. I need to get one of those things anyway. Does Michael's carry them?

I just read the Name of the post and thought ' 'I can't do that'', No stylus or light box or brass templates. But after reading the great instructions, I think I can. Maybe not today but I will be sure to try this. Thanks for the fun challenge, Lynn.

Legos, what a cool idea. My son has a million of them in his room. Might have to steal some and try this again.

Kinda cool technique, Lynn - I have never done this before and will be doing it again. Here's my first feeble attempt:

Thinking of You

Is it just my computer? Took me three attempts to get this to upload!
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

I have used cardstock vellum in place of a stamp-a-ma-jig before.
I am not sure if you would be able to see the white image as clearly through it for this technique though.
It is worth a try, and heck it's only paper if it does not work right?

For those of us (me included) who have just never gotten around to getting a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I have this to offer:

First, I LOVE all the other ideas for how to rig one up! Never thought of those, and I bet they would work great!

I have a couple things that have worked for me in the past:
-I've used a ruler and tracing or waxed paper (for the more intricate stamps that require "finesse" to do this). I used the long side of the ruler for the long side of my stamp, and just used the inch markings to determine placement, then tried like the dickens to see through that tracing paper or waxed kitchen paper.

-also, I've used the VERY sophisticated technique of "eyeballing it". LOL Yup, I admit it. It's not so easy with fine-lined images, but with more solid images, I just stamp in white, then when I'm ready for my classic ink layer, I tilt the stamp almost on its side, eyeball the position just off the edge of the white image, then sort of "roll" the stamp down to where I want it.

I don't know if that sounds like it makes sense, but as I STILL have no SAMJ, we can see if it works later when I submit my attempt at this great challenge!
Hope this helps!
Tara

Lynn,
I just taped two rulers together using my grid paper to make sure they were straight and at a right angle and used my cuttlebug plate or the clear packaging from my dimensionals to stamp my image on. It worked well. Look around the house for clear things. You could probably use a ziplock bag to stamp your image and line it up. Anything like that will work.
Hope you can play!
Two SU markers will tape together to form a T square too. The cap is flat so it fits well against another marker.

Yes, Michaels does carry them. Also for everyone who doesn't have one, you can always use clear stamps (if you have some). They can be easily positioned for this without the samj.
