TLC175 Chalk Pouncing
Woohoo, I’m your Guest Hostess for this week. I sent this technique to Beth and she asked if I’d like to be the guest hostess for it. So, here I am!
This technique is like poppin’ pastels, but you color the background as well. Check it out.
My challenge for you today – Chalk Pouncing. Check out this link for directions by Susan Chong. http://www.lasimppan.com/techchalkpouncing.htm
I experimented with sponges, cotton balls, and tissues. See what you can come up with by using these or other items to bring a texture to your background. Have Fun!
Please use keyword TLC175, when uploading your card.
My Sample
TLC175 Gallery
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows; one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
You’re done!

Sounds cool, but I have no chalks, so I'll just cheer from the sidelines (aka the gallery)! Can't wait to see what everyone creates!

This is totally new to me and I do have pastels, so maybe I can jump back into the challenges. I've been traveling and away from my stamps...

OK, here's a pretty simple version of this technique, but it kind of looks like tie-dye to me.

I love the look of chalk. The tutorial is just slightly different. I have not put chalk onto the cardstock before stamping. To prevent smearing, I let the Versamark dry a little while before I added the chalk.
Here is a page I did last June. (I really liked this one) LOVE

"Pounced" Eagles Wings
I'm right with everyone else - haven't used my pastels in a long time! I love the added element of the pastel background - thanks for finding this technique and passing it on!
Here is my card - On Eagles' Wings.
I embossed the image ala Jazzytobi (thanks for the inspiration!).
And thanks for looking!

I was reluctant to try this out, but after seeing the soft and pretty cards in the gallery, I'll have to see if I can come up with something close to being as nice as everyone else's!! Thanks for hosting the challenge!!

This is a neat idea but I don't have any chalks! When I go to 'play' at my friend's (SU demo) I'll suggest it for a stamp camp. Thanks for letting me view all the wonderful variations in the gallery.

Christine,
Welcome to summer vacation. It's a wonderful time of year! This is my 3rd week of it. I could really get used to this kind of life.

Vicki,
I can't wait to see what you come up with. It's not intimidating at all. Try different ways to apply the pastels......experiment, then use it on your image. I had to play a little on scrap paper first. Have fun. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
