I really haven't done this challenge too often, but this technique drew my attention. I just love it! Here's MY CARD. Thanks!

Here is mine! I did it for several things. Challenges SC170 and TLC162 and used an idea from scrapnextras that is posted under XTRAS1.

Well, finally, here is my card for this challenge! I made it for my friend's birthday and I couldn't post until after then, because she looks at this sight all the time. I really wanted her to be surprised! Here is Michele's birthday card. Thanks for looking and thanks for such a fun challenge!

Today's technique is paper tole...the kind where the same image is stacked to provide dimension to the key features. We have done something similar before. The catch with today's challenge is that NO FLOWERS allowed. (unless of course you truly do not own ANY stamp that is not a flower!).

Here are my samples:
Penny Black smiles
Close-up of layers

It is hard to see the layers in the pictures, but in the close-up, you can see how the cat has been cut out and adhered with a pop-dot, and on top of that layer is a cut out of the drink and that has been adhered with a pop-dot. Ditto with the trees: the entire tree is layered, and then the leaves are layered on top of that.

So you need to stamp the image 3 times. Cut out the features you want to highlight and adhere with a pop-dot. It's really easy, just requires patience and good cutting skills (and more patience!)

Take your time and enjoy!

Stupid question but what is a 'pop dot'? Is that a glue dot? or a dimensional? Thank youl

Not a stupid question! A pop-dot is the same as a dimensional...a little shape of foam with adhesive on both sides used to raise something off the main surface.

Thanks Beth. Do they come in different thicknesses? or just different sizes?

You can find them in both different sizes and varying thicknesses.
