Default Mulberry Batik

Never have tried this before, I have reinkers how would I apply them to the wet paper? I can see this is going to get messy, better break out the rubber gloves!

Right, and we don't drink coffee... so... no substitutes. Of course, I could just pick up some filters at the grocery store. Is that silly? Buying coffee filters to stamp?

After doing the embossing, I just set the paper on scrap paper, spritz till wet, then dab a drop here and there, then smoosh it with a damp sponge brush (or a paint brush or aqua painter would work). It really doesn't bleed all over until you get it pretty wet. But it will bleed through several sheets of scrap paper, so you may want a stack or newspaper underneath. I also blot it a bit with paper towel before going to iron.

Coffee filters would probably be cheaper than mulberry paper, plus you could take it out of the grocery budget, instead of the stamping budget, right???? LOL! Food coloring too, (if you don't have reinkers)!

What a fun new technique to try. Thanks Melody for the push. I gave it a try with yellow mulberry and it worked okay.

LOL, I am ashamed of you people!!! Everyone is worried about no paper and no coffee filters and no crayons and no re-inkers...FOR SHAME!! A dedicated stamper would be saying "An iron? What's an iron?" (I can't seem to locate my iron (she whispered quietly with her head hanging)

Bwah! You just take your clothes in the shower, right? Custom steaming.

Now that I think of it, I have an iron in the Goodwill pile that would be perfect for this.... I don't use it for clothes (it sometimes pulls the fabric), and I don't want to get wax on the clothes iron. Now I have a stamping iron! Woohoo!

Well, that felt like it took me forever! The Mulberry Batik was quick and easy... for some reason, however, my *mo* and my *jo* seem to have seperated today.

Thanks for the challenge-I have seen this idea but never sat down to do it.

Someone suggested a swiffer sheet. That might work.

If you don't have refills or watercolor crayons, you can sponge the color on, or use markers and then spread it with water.
Thanks Melody - I'll try this after work.

I'm on a break at work. After seeing all the cards done with this technique, I can't wait to get home and try it. I've been putting designs together in my head. We'll see how they materialize when I have actual supplies in my hands.

Thanks for your tip - I 'll try that after work today - I also was told I can use a sponge in an ink pad but it sounds like food coloring might be easier.
