TLC 158 - WHO’S DE-BOSS?!? (03-03-08)
I’m so excited to be your guest hostess today. Beth, thank you for this fun opportunity - I sure hope all the ladies (and any gents!) have fun today!
We all have so many tools and there are so many techniques we’ve learned and have yet to learn. Sometimes we forget to use those old techniques we learned because we’re all so busy trying to learn the new one’s. I thought I’d go back to a technique I learned a few years back from a wonderful retired school teacher that lives in Zoar, Ohio - June Knaack..
Today we’re going to stamp an image onto vellum paper and then deboss it with a stylus. I have a tutorial posted on my blog - with step by step directions as to how I made my sample.
Supplies you’ll need today:
Stamp with an open image
Vellum
Wax Paper
Stylus
Mouse-type pad
Beate Johns has a tutorial on Debossing Vellum that can be found here:
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...dry_debossing/
Beate’s technique is different from we’re doing today - she used a brass template and lightbox - you can find some helpful information in her tutorial.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
When you upload, please put TLC158 in the keyword section, and then post a link to your card here in this thread.
All gallery submissions can be found HERE: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&what=keywords
My Tutorial: http://celebrationmoments.typepad.co...ds/step_1.html
My Sample: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...00&ppuser=5711
Thanks for playing - can't wait to see what everyone does!!
- REMEMBER TLC158 in your keyword section -

Wow! I was just gonna log off and go to bed (it's almost 4:00AM here) but I came here to check it out and the challenge has JUST BEEN POSTED 2 minutes ago! I have NEVER done this type of debossing before, so this will be totally new for me. Thanks for posting!

Hmmm... two of my favorite things: stamping on vellum and dry embossing! I'll have to try this out, even though I don't have a gallery-- no way take and upload pics Thanks for sharing a great tutorial!

Sandy, be sure your file name (through own computer files) is a unique name. I named one of mine from last week "love." Way to common. It disappeared three times before I realized what the deal was. Hope that helps! Can't wait to see your card!
