Hi... I found some notes on this in my techniques file and it says there are 3 ways to do the kissing technique. Here are my notes:credit goes to:

Rubber Stamp Kissing
By Peggy Gottschau
Design Team Member

Kissing is a stamping technique which adds texture, interest, and versatility to your solid stamps.

Kissing is very easy and there are three different ways to "kiss" stamps. You will need two stamps for this technique, one solid and one patterned, and of course you will need an ink pad.

The first way to kiss a stamp is to apply ink to your solid stamp, then very firmly press the inked stamp into your patterned stamp. Without re-inking, apply the solid stamp to your paper.

The second way to kiss a stamp is to apply ink to your patterned stamp, then very firmly press the inked patterned stamp into your solid stamp. Again, apply the solid stamp to your paper.

The final way to "kiss" is to apply ink to both stamps in different but complimentary colors, then firmly press the stamps together. As with the two above examples, apply your solid stamp to your paper.

Have fun experimenting with this technique!

I tried and tried and tried... but I guess this technique isn't working for me! This first card I made I used a sentiment stamp on the bold shape... DUH ME!!! The words stamp backwards that way. Scrap that idea. The 2nd one... the colors didn't contrast that much and you could barely see the pattern. On to card #3. "Ugh" is all I can say. Well, here's my 4th attempt!

http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=1

Thank you getting my creative juices flowing! And I had a lot of fun experimenting, But This is the last kissing card you'll see from me. Lol!

Nice card and good job with the pic too! Next time you can get a bigger pic for us to view if when you go to the galerry to retrieve it you- Click on the pic to bring it up to view as larger image. Then copy and past that URL.

Thanks for the help, Kimilou! I realized after I had posted how to go directly to the picture, instead of the gallery....next time!

Another question....when you copy info from someone else's post, how do you get it to appear in a box and give credit to the previous poster? Above I just typed "Kimilou wrote" and copied the text. Thanks for any help!!

Stampinmagic,
It took me months to figure out how everyone had beautifully perfect quote boxes! To do what I just did with your quote, click the quote button that is on the top right corner of the person's original post. That will automatically open up a reply box with the person's name and quote already filled in. That's the easiest because you can then delete whatever part of the quote that you don't want to... um, quote.

You can also copy the person's post, then click reply, then paste the quote into your reply box, then highlight it, then click the quote button above the reply box. But don't even think about trying to insert the name of the person in front of the quote, or you'll mess everything up!

I think the first one is easier!

You have the right idea. When you click on the quote icon you should get the message box just like you were posting a reply. The quote you want to quote (man that sounds weird doesn't it!) should already be in the message body. HTH! Keep trying !!

Is it cheating to combine both challenges? Here is my first card that uses the 'kissing' technique (and gets inspiration for its format from AndreaSophie's Sketch Challenge #10) - I found it quite difficult to find a stamp that is big enough and solid enough to take the large pattern of some of my background stamps - interested to see/hear others' experiences.
Here we go:

OK, So I obviously can't follow directions well, I used keyword 'TC01', not TLC01, but here's a link to my attempt at the challenge...hope you like it!

What a cool technique! Thanks for challenging me.

I love the technique but I had a hard time coming up with two stamp sets that would kiss each other. Apparently, many of my stamp sets are playing hard to get! Actually, I found that I don't have many solid stamps. It's interesting what you learn about your stuff when doing these challenges! It seems just last week, I was telling my demo how I didn't have many 'color-in' type stamps and now I think I don't have any solid ones. I guess I need to figure it out because lack of stamps is NOT my problem.

Well, here's my attempt...

Oh my word, I posted a card last night with the kissing technique but only found this thread this morning. Unfortunately, I also only found the directions on how to properly do the technique this morning as well. My kissing technique is a bit 'simple'. This is why I love SCS, I learn sooooo much from you ladies!!

This is my first attempt at the kissing techinque. I'm not crazy about it except I think the tulip came out okay. I've been babysitting grandchildren while my DD and SIL are organizing and hosting (?) a benefit garage sale for DGD's 1st grade teacher who has terminal cancer. They did great! Raised thousands for the family. Anyway I had to do this late last night quitely. I'm going to try it again, but thought I'd post this one.
