Hi Friends! Happy Monday! It is my turn again to challenge you and I found ANOTHER fun "watercolor" technique for you. It creates two panels a darker one and a lighter "print". The challenge is to create 2 projects using both sides.
This is the video that inspired my challenge.
I used Distress Oxides which created a softer, more muted look, but regular Distress Inks would work too.
I hope you are inspired to play along with the challenge! I can't wait to see what you create.
Hugs,
Lyn Here are the Details for today's challenge:
Grins, I totally understand why that inspired you, Lyn. Even non-video me watched that a while back and I'm glad you've given me the motivation to try it. Though it may not be till my day off on Wednesday.
I'm not sure I did this right, my papers stuck together and it was difficult to separate them but I've got 2 cards and like them, thank you, will try this technique again after the holidays
I have two quite good main prints and two incredibly faint second prints even though I thought I'd sponged loads of colour on. I like the almost brocade/damask effect on the second attempt, it seemed to take texture from the embossing.
I'll try to get cards made tomorrow, and when I have time I'll try again with DOX and see if that works better for me.
I had a rough time with mine. Can't figure out what went wrong. Was it my paper? (Bristol vellum surface) or was it too wet? But my paper almost didn't pull apart. Some of it stuck together and tore. I think I can salvage enough to make a card, but I will have to try again.
I'll definitely try again with DOX when I have time. Glad to have tried it this week - also glad to see I'm not the only one who struggled with it. Thanks, Lyn. Hope you don't mind, I didn't actually make two cards, but I did use both prints on my one card.
I have 4 cards to share and I didn't use my new die (it only arrived yesterday). I need to try this again to perfect my technique but I am pleased with my cards so thanks for sharing Lyn. Original 1 Print 1 Original 2 Print 2

I didn't get the saturated colour I'd hoped for - suspect it is the CS I used but I did love the technique. Finally got a card made; TLC769 by Dockside - at Splitcoaststampers
