These first two I already had on hand. I'll try to get into the stamp room this evening and make a fresh one just for this challenge!
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=55811 http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=55811 Here's my third one. I just finished it today. It's better than the first two, I'm improving!! http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=55811 |
Just cleaned up from dinner, so I might be able to squeeze the comp book in??? ;) Hope to be back soon!
|
I did one at Christmas as a gift, here it is.
M Notebook I hope to make up another one and post it later! |
Here's my first Composition Book.
|
I did these as Christmas presents for the men in our family (we have to give handmade gifts) I made them into prayer journals for them.
This one was never finished so thanks for the push to get it done! I hit Target when the comp books were 12 cents. I have dozens left. I love the ideas and will case many of them! I will probably give this one to my DH to keep in his new truck to keep track of repairs etc. Men's Journal |
I finally got one made took me awhile but I had to join in, I really like making these notebooks. I didn't have any composition books but I had a spiral for backup thankfully.

I posted one: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...45798&cat=6422
It still needs accessories, but I don't have a whole lot of blue on hand, since we have mostly girly stuff here! |
Thanks so much for posting this challenge today, Beth. It was the perfect challenge because I needed to make a hostess gift for this weekend and was already thinking about altering a composition book. Here's my effort -- I hope my hostess likes it. TFL!

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=52715 I really like how it turned out. Let's hope it helps keep me motivated! |
I did a composition book but didn't like how it turned out... to much space for my mind to have to cover... hee hee. So I did a spiral and got lots of compliments from the fellow jewelry ladies I gave it to for Christmas. Hope you like it. http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=91809

Okay, I have never done one of these, however, I think I will try doing one this afternoon. I have to go into town then, so will stop at the store and pick up one of these. How fun!!
|
I love making these - I made one for VJ's teacher when she got her master's degree at the end of last month. It was for WT90 (Product Parade), but clearly fits in this category too!
I will try and make a new one (Maybe a weight loss one) - for later this summer! |
Thanks, Beth! I really needed this push - to use some of the embellies I've been hoarding and to cover my Journal!!
Family History Journal |
Awesome fun challenge. I have some of the mini comp books so will do one of those. I need some DSS stuff anyways.

|
I re-posted mine again with more bells and whistles. I like it better now!
|
OK, here are 2 I did for an auction for a local cat shelter

I did my first notebook about a month ago and learned how fun they are! Thanks for a great challenge!

Here is an address book that I bought at the dollar spot at Target, and covered.

this one's for me!
I made this design up based on the awesome creation by
pinefeather Then I used it for a stamp camp in December. Then I gave away the one sample and was left with nothing. So, when I saw the challenge, I gathered the left over supplies and made one just for me. It'll have to wait for next year to be used but oh well, I'll be so tickled when I find it again next season!!! I love this little notebook, if I do say so myself! Thanks for the challenge! Sleigh full of Surprises |
wow, all of these look great! I have 3 mini composition books that I bought awhile back with the intention of altering. I'm so thankful for the tutorial- maybe I will actually get this done tonight! :)

Here's one:
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=49997 Thanks for the challenge! I just bought two more notebooks in Michael's dollar aisle today! Busy, busy, busy :) |

I couldn't believe when I read the challenge on Mon. morning. Just this past weekend, I gave this a try and covered this little coil booklet:
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=446777&cat=500&ppuser=90421 I have finally been able to play tonight and covered my first composition book and it was soooo much fun. Here it is: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=446774&cat=500&ppuser=90421 Thanks for the great challenge!! |
Here are my comp books. I made them for the girls I teach in Sunday School.
Look here! Up close view |
Well, I didn't have any composition notebooks or spirals, so I made a covered mini legal pad. I learned how to make these several years ago at a LSS. Took me long enough, because I really didn't know where I wanted to go with it, so I'd do a little and then set it aside for awhile. This is made so that when the notepad gets used up, you can slide a new one in the pocket. Here it is: notes.

Hostess Idea for composition books
I cover these and then section them off and give them as hostess gifts for those that are on their 3rd or 4th party. We use them to stamp all our sets in. I decorate the front of them and put their name on them. Then on the inside, I divide them out to sections that relate to the sections in the catalogs (i.e., nature, growing up, minis, etc.) by using ribbons attached to the front of each section page. I have had a great response from them. This way you can go through your book in sections rather than dig through your drawers of stamps.
|
I don't post very often...I give most of my stuff away almost as quick as I create it. But I had this little jounal already made for my grand-daughter so I took a quick pic and submitted my "journal".
Take a look: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...47103&cat=5642 |

For you experienced spiral journal makers~
Is it easier to take the spiral out and use that as a template to punch the holes out or measure a bit, punch out holes and do slits to slide the DP up into the spiral. I usually do the punch, slit slide but wondered how others did it. TIA |
I have finally done one of these notebooks. I have never done one - so this was fun and I needed a way to keep my mileage for the year.
