Greetings on this mid-March Madness Monday...how's that for alliteration?! Anyway, today we were going to play with some tools that all of us should have-EMBOSSING FOLDERS. The challenge is to choose two embossing folders and emboss one piece of paper with both of them (not at the same time!). The key is to choose those folders wisely; in general, the first folder should be a close pattern, possibly geometric, covering the whole piece of paper. The second folder should be a more specific type of pattern with some open spaces. The first folder pattern will flatten somewhat, depending on your embossing machine, but you should still see the first pattern in the open spaces of the second. A few tips:
1) I think 110 lb cardstock works best, athough I did one with 100% watercolor paper and that worked pretty well too.
2) Sometimes it is suggested that you spritz the paper lightly with water. I found that it didn't matter that much.
3) After you emboss the first folder, you could lightly sponge a little ink over the embossing before embossing the second. That way, the first embossing will still be evident. Choose another color ink for the top embossing if you like.
4) I did one card with a 3D folder; you'll see my explanation in my card post.
4) Play, play, then play again. I did a few in about 5 minutes.
Then finish your creation however you like.
Here is a video, just in case you want to see the results first.
Remember to use the keyword TLC890 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

I enjoyed this technique. I plan to try this again with other folders.
