TLC881 ~ DIY One Sheet Wonder ~ 01/10/2022

Good Monday to all! 10 days into 2022 already! More than 1/52nd of 2022 gone! Time flies!

Today we are going to visit Natasha Foote. She is a New Zealand creator and I enjoy her videos a lot. She likes to use her supplies over and over again, as she doesn't have a lot of space and funds. I could take a lesson from her, but I probably won't. She is so cheerful, stamps with her children on her lap and gets a lot of joy out of her creating. Of all the techniques we do, I love doing backgrounds the most and you should be able to get about 6 cards from this background (don't need to create all 6 today!).There is a video for this technique; you probably don't need to watch if you don't like videos as I will write out some brief instructions.

You will need a large piece of watercolor paper, doesn't need to be good paper; if you don't have watercolor paper, use a heavy duty paper that can handle some water. My piece of paper is 9x12". Wet the center of paper, either with a small spray bottle or a brush and water. Keep the water in the center, use about 1/3 of the paper. Choose some water soluble product, like reinkers, watercolors, whatever you have and add color to the wet part by dabbing with a brush. This looks best if you don't mix too much, just do blobs of color, leaving some white space if possible, let the colors bleed, let the edges of the color be a little uneven. I used three colors. When you're happy, let it dry.
The next step is using some kind of glue that will remain tacky when dry and add foiling. I used Cosmic Shimmer gilding flake glue and some foil. Add the glue like veins in marble...thin lines, not too thick, let it dry (my lines are little too thick). Make sure you distribute these veins of glue evenly because, remember, you're going to cut this up to make several cards. If you don't have glue that remains tacky, gilding flakes or foil, you can try embossing powder. An embossing pen would work well because it will draw fine lines. Or even some metallic paint might look good. That's about it! Now you can cut up your OSW, making sure you have some of the color on one side and some white space next to it for stamping or whatever you want to add.

Remember to use the keyword TLC881 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

TLC881 Yellow Chick

Great challenge, thanks! Used alcohol inks and an alcohol mister. Did some "veining" with a pencil. As this treated paper smudges, just stamped my chick and added a simple sentiment. Here's TLC881 Yellow Chick

Sabrina and Jean, you've asked me if I liked to work with the hot foil pen, yes I liked to trace my lines, It has a USB cable to use directly on my computer in 1 minute it's hot and you can trace, write, draw, I never used it before because i was a bit scared how to use it, but it's so easy

Oh boy, this way fun! I used Distress Oxide Inks and heat activated foil (but just used a ballpoint pen to draw the veins using the foil, as the foil was a freebie and I have no foil heat tool). I may have gone a little overboard with the purple veining, though...

Here's my card using part of my watercolor panel. I didn't have gold foil so I used Versamark cube and used gold glitter embossing powder:

Sending Hugs

Definitely going to try this Jean. Thank you. I also follow Natasha Foote but haven’t checked her videos for a while. This is inspirational. I’ve also used foil with alcohol inks. Comes out beautifully too. I will be back. Happy day

Here is my first card. I will, post the other later in the week as I double dipped challenges lol.

I had some spare time this weekend which is unusual and decided to try this technique. Loved it. Thank you Jean and will be a technique I will go to regularly when I need some quick cards.

Here is another card I made using one of the panels left.
