Default TLC878 ~ Gift Cards need wrapping too! ~ 12/20/2021

Happy Monday!

I can't believe we are less than a week from Christmas! This month has flown by for sure but I have mostly stayed on top of the merry making - what about you?

Today's challenge is inspired by those last minute gift cards. I wanted a way to decorate them that wasn't boring so I visited the tutorials tab at the top of the SCS home page. I found lots of treat bags, and gift card holders that would be perfect for this challenge and I will list a few below but the one I went with today is from Dina Gibbs and was posted in 2008 called Box In A Bag on Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers - I had never done this one so it was a lot of fun!

I wanted mine to be a bit bigger as my gift card was not as small as a credit card...so I decided to use wrapping paper for my "bag" which was perfect because as a geek, I wrap my gifts based on events - My friends get together just before Christmas so I wrap all of theirs in one paper, one side of my family gets together Christmas Eve, they get another. You get the picture. It is pretty under the tree with a variety of paper but when the event comes, I grab out all of the like papers and am ready to go. Now this one will blend with the others just perfectly!

So the challenge is to create a gift card holder. Take liberties, try something new, check out the forum, just have fun!!

Other options could include the following but again, this is just a guide. There are so many others in the tutorials section and you could create your own as well!

Remember to use the keyword TLC878 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/show photo..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

What a great challenge, Lyn! I loved all the tutorials listed but chose to go with the Box in a Bag, too!

My two gift card holders for this very timely challenge…gift cards were my method of choice this year as I shunned the frenzy of mall shopping and the uncertainty of delivery of online shopping.
