Happy first Monday in December to you all. I don't know about you, but this year seems mostly to have flown by - hard to believe it's December.
I thought we would revisit an older challenge from Joan Ervin, TLC519 Sentiment Down Under, from February 2015. I reckoned that in the intervening nearly seven years, most of us would have a greater variety of border dies to use for it. I know I had very few back then! I was torn between using my Spellbinders curved borders which I seriously underuse, but then I wanted something snowy to go with my card.
Here are Joan's instructions - I can't really improve on them.
1. Select a card base and a different colored paper for the top layer (either cardstock or patterned paper).
2. Figure out where you want your sentiment on the card base (that's the down under part) and stamp it with ink of your choice.
3. Stamp or decorate your top layer keeping in mind you will be cutting this piece in two pieces.
4. Cut your top layer in half at the point where you stamped your sentiment on the card base. You can use a straight line or curved line...what ever works for your design.
5. Lay your top layers above and below the sentiment to judge how much to trim off the top of the top piece and the bottom of the bottom piece. You want them to fit on the card base and still have an inch or so opening for the sentiment to show.
6. Adhere the top pieces with foam tape or foam dots so the sentiment is in the *valley*
In fact, going for a nearly all white card, I didn't use any DP or coloured cardstock this time round, but at the time of the original challenge, I saw it as a great opportunity to use up some DP and made this card:

And then went on to make another dozen using assorted papers, because this one was in a set I gifted to my SIL, and the person she sent it emailed me wondering if I could make her two gift-sets of six each.
And of course you don't have to use a punch or die - you can always free-hand your cut!
Once you've created your card, upload it with the keyword
TLC876 (and if you like, use TLC519 also), and it's highly recommended to post a link in this thread.
