Default TLC862 ~ Wrapped Yarn Resist Trees ~{8/30/2021}

It's my turn to host the TLC this week and I have a fun one for you.
This week, we are doing a fun technique called
TLC862 ~ Wrapped Yarn Resist Trees

I saw this fun technique and thought it was one we could all do. Pretty simple and I think everyone will have the supplies needed on hand to play along with this technique. So here's what you need to do to create a card for this challenge.
  • cut a white card stock panel to the size you want to use as your card front.
  • using some yarn, wrap the panel with the yarn going round and round, overlapping in some areas and temporarily fasten in the back
  • Using a cotton ball on the end of a clothespin, dip it into your acrylic paint or into some diluted ink and dab the colour onto your yarn wrapped cardstock.
  • Don't forget to use a different cotton ball for each colour.
  • When you are happy with the inked/painted panel, remove the yarn carefully and let dry.
  • When dry, use a black line pen or marker to outline the trees and create your card.
Here is the video I saw that inspired my cards:
Wrapped Yarn Resist

I also have posted pictures on my blog if needed.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!

The TLC862 can be found here.
I created 2 cards; one uses Acrylic Paint and the other Distress Oxide inks.
Card #1- Fall Splendor
Card #2- Walk in the Woods

Don't forget to upload your card to the technique gallery also.
Remember to use the keyword TLC849 when you are uploading.
It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Sorry for the late/later post then usual. We had a wild thunderstorm last night and that resulted in no power too.

First I had to find my ball of yarn and then my paints. Had a play, got messy and didn't like my piece but persevered and made a card which I think is OK

Super-fun. I used DOX for a quick card after work. Visiting friends this evening, will be back to comment tomorrow.
And maybe even try another .

Thanks, Karen. Broke a few rules, but I just had to experiment with using a saturated with watercolor concentrate paper towel onto photo paper. I love making unpredictable Backgrounds. This was inspired for last week's Teapot party for Insurance man, Tom. MMTPT683 TLC862 Liability by ArtzadoniStudio at Splitcoaststampers by Lori "Artzadoni"
