I have tried slimline cards before (I think they were called tall cards then ) but it has been a while. I love them every time I see them and I remind myself that I really want to add that to my to-do list. I finally decided it was time to do it. These cards are great for scene building but I really wanted to play around with a tall digi and make it tall enough for a slimline card front. Whatever you decide to do, just have fun creating a slimline OR mini slimline card...
A slimline card is essentially 8.5"x3.5" but as long as it fits into a business size envelope (#10 - 9.5" X 4.125") it is fine. (to get the best use out of a letter size sheet of paper - Cut it at 8.5" X 7" and score in half on the 7" side).
A mini slimline card is 3"x6" (They make an envelope size called #6 3/4 Remittance Envelope that should fit these.)
FOR BONUS POINTS and if you don't have a business envelope, HERE is a link to a great tutorial for making your own. You can tweak it a bit to create an envelope for a mini by cutting the cardstock 8.5"x8.5" and following all of the scores except the last one - the one at 10.5" Instead make that last score at 8".
I can't wait to see your slimline cards! Have fun!!
Lyn
PS and By the way...
Since the gallery isn't always as cooperative as we'd like, please add your link to the comments below as well as adding it to the technique gallery using the keyword TLC843 when you are uploading.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
Lyn- thanks for the challenge! I went with a mini Slimline card- had some pretty designer papers in my stash and added a traced Happy Birthday sentiment. Here's HB Poppy
