TLC813 ~ Leaf Emboss! ~ (09/21/20)
Here are the Details for today's challenge: Keyword: TLC813 My Samples: TLC813: Leaf Emboss TLC813: Gallery Submissions Today I have a fun project once again inspired by Gina K... For this project, you will need a leaf from your yard, your neighbor's yard, a tree on the path you walk - you get the picture right It is best if it is a green leaf as it is a little more flexible. We are going to use the leaf as our stamp and then we are going to emboss it. On a scratch piece of paper, lay the leaf with the "front" side up. "Ink" it up with embossing ink (I used VersaMark). Gently pick the leaf up and lay it face down ("inked" side down) on a piece of card stock. At this point, you can lay a piece of paper on top and very firmly press along the leaf to get the ink onto the cardstock or you can do what I did and run it through your die cutting machine (or use your rolling pin if it is still on your desk from last week's challenge haha) - I used the same sandwich I use for thin metal dies. This way it wasn't too loose but wasn't too tight either. I found this way got me the best results but pressing with your hands and paper also creates pretty results. When you take it out, gently lift the leaf so as not to smear the impression, add your embossing powder, and heat it with your heat tool. That's it - add a sentiment and you are done! If you have a bunch of premade backgrounds in your stash, you could probably make a set of these in no time! There are lots of possibilities with this one. I grabbed some already ink blended cardstock from my stash which gave a great background to my leaf. But you can go with plain card, or designer paper, you choose! You can use metallic embossing powder like I did or you could go with clear and do an emboss resist, or even a Joseph's Coat technique could be fun. I hope you have fun!! I can't wait to see what you create! Hugs!Lyn

Well, I have three attempts, one of which will make it onto a card tomorrow. One is too open, the other is too dense.

TLC813 leafy love
what a terrific challenge, thank you Lyn! | I did run this through my Big Shot to make sure the embossing ink stuck- I added a bit to the outline of the leaf and highlighted the veining with a marker and a blender pen, lightly applied. Finished with a hand lettered sentiment. Here's leafy love |

Hello
A fun challenge and it worked with all of the leaves I collected. This one was my favorite impression and shape.
Thanks for a fun challenge!

What a fun challenge, I saw that Gina K video too but hadn't tried it yet. I made five panels while playing around with it. Thank you!

My first attempts I really inked up the leaves and they images were too solid. An oak leaf gave me a delicate look that shimmered with gold embossing powder and I love how it turned out. Here is my card. And just think, every day we will be getting more and more leaves to use as stamps! Thanks for the challenge.

Here is my second card as I didn't think the first panel attempt was a keeper. https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/3008611?&cat=500&ppuser=434723

I made a couple more cards with some of the prints I made (because, of course, I made multiple prints when playing with this technique!):

Like Jayne I wanted to try this one again. I found this leaf on my morning walk. Autumn is well underway here or as it is really called, Fall,

I finished this card the day the challenge came out, but I never had time to take a photo of it until today.
