Default TLC798~Crinkled Chalk~06/08/2020

Good Monday, everyone! I hope we all had a pleasant weekend. My weekends and week days all blend together, so wishing someone a good weekend seems rather strange.

Today, in an effort to make this less stressful, I chose a very simple technique from 'way back when' called Crinkled Chalk. Beate created it back when chalk inks were the 'in thing.' Do you have to have chalk inks to do this technique?? Not at all! Use whatever inks you have. I still have chalk inks and surprisingly, they still had some juice. I will admit, I have never done this technique (I know, where have I been??!!) and was surprised how fun it was and how interesting the patterns were that the plastic wrap created. I found myself trying many different inks and color combos. I even took some of my dry chalks, rubbed them on a craft sheet, spritzed a little water and picked that up with the plastic wrap. It worked, a bit wetter so needs drying time, but another option. Less of the patterning occurs though.

Here is the tutorial: Crinkled Chalk Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers

So have fun creating backgrounds and using them as you like.

Here's a link to our TLC798 Crinkled Chalk gallery

Here are my cards:

Remember to use the keyword TLC798 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

What a fun technique! I look forward to trying it. My weekend was started with good intentions, but every time I sat at my desk, my husband wanted me to do something....alas, not much crafting time.

I cannot believe I've never used saran wrap to create a background before today. It's so easy and I really like the result. Thanks for hosting this technique today!! Here's my card: A Nurse Brings...

Here’s mine Jean. I made two panels but chose this one as I needed these colours for another challenge and die cut. I enjoyed doing this challenge even though I don’t have chalk inks. I used others. Happy day

My chalk inks, unlike yours, were past it but I created this with some help from a couple of Distress inks

I don't have chalk inks anymore or plastic wrap! I used my regular ink pads and wax paper instead for my card. Lots of fun and amazingly enough I didn't get too much ink on my fingers, lol.
