Happy first Monday in October to you all. Where have the months gone! I can't believe how fast they just zip by.
For our Everything Old is New Again this month, I thought we would revisit a couple of earlier challenges featuring two very similar batik techniques. I know there are other batik type tutorials in the Tutorials section, but these are the two we are focussing on in our TECHNIQUE challenge today.
From September 2008 we have
TLC188 Batik-The Colorwash Way {09-29-08} which is pretty much the same as the tutorial for
Burned Batik : Lynn proposed colourwashes, but any water-based medium will work well.
And going back even further, in April 2007 Melody gave us Mulberry Batik for TLC114:

If you don't have mulberry paper - and while I did have a couple of sheets, I know it's outlived its trend and is harder to come by now - Melody said that coffee filters also work well for this, so that's what I tried, and got a good result. I used gelatos to add colour after embossing, and then a baby wipe to blend the colours a bit.
