It is the third Monday of the month and it is my turn to challenge you again!
Last week recycling was celebrated. Here in the US we had America Recycles Day on the 15th...All opportunities to increase awareness about recycling. Sooooo....I thought for my challenge, I would incorporate a little recycling. We have had a similar challenge, but this one is a bit different I think.
For my challenge, I would like you to recycle a soda can and using a die cut, create something to act as your focal point. Since we are nearing the holidays, I also want it to be removable so it can act as a gift for the recipient. This could be a pin to wear, an embellishment for their scrapbooks, an ornament, etc...you decide.
To get you started, here are some directions on cutting your can. Please be careful. If you go slowly you should be fine!
For my card, I used a snowflake die and a red Coke Can - I have a friend who collects Coca Cola product, so once she reads the card, she can take the ornament off and hang it on her tree. I like to adhere fun foam to the back of the can BEFORE I die cut so it is more stable. I also cut with the die on the front side of the can- this seems to push the edges down toward the foam and keeps the edges smoother.
I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge - Just Have Fun!!
Oh, yikes. I use about one soda can a month or so. Well, beer or cider, LOL, no soda at all. And I just used the last one to make a snowman. I might be lucky and still have a few scraps on the floor . If not, I'll sub a foil roasting tin or something like that. A rare Monday off so I've got time to play before the housework for a change.
I very rarely drink soda out of a can so it is a good thing that I had saved a can that I had cut open well over a year ago. This was fun to use it up for something and I even like how it turned out! Peppy Stockings by pvilbaum - at Splitcoaststampers

I had fun with this even though it ended up as a pretty unusual card! Thanks so much for the tip to apply fun foam to the back of the aluminum before cutting!
Inspired by the red snowflake ornament- I swapped out a soda can for a red embossed foil coffee bag- punched out a daisy shape, adding some cardstock for stability. Created a red striped loop for hanging, and added a matching red sewn on tie with a burlap holiday cup theme loop. Here's Red Daisy
