And guess what? It was written by me! I submitted it back in the spring and was really surprised and THRILLED to see it as last Wednesday's tutorial.
When you upload, please put it in the Salted Background section of the gallery (rather than by stamp set) so that others looking at the tutorial can easily find your example by clicking on the link withing the tutorial.
Please also put TLC29 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
Hey Beth - Congrats on being the Wednesday celeb! Last time I looked they still had Beate's pic there though. It threw me for a minute. Great tutorial! Hopefully I'll have time to play sometime this week. I've really been missing participating in the challenges.
I've been doing salted backgrounds for years, I learned it in one of my art classes when we were watercoloring. I used it quite a few times for christmas cards, I'll have to make a new one, they're so much fun!

Beth...you must be reading my mind. I printed out the tutorial last week thinking "I have to try this." Now I will. Congrats on being the Wednesday feature!

I don't really stamp much. I'm just here for the company.
Great tutorial Beth! Now to get the technique done without my husband rolling his eyes at me! Beth if you ever have us using evaporated milk he'll have me committed for sure! Ive never seen nor looked for that tutorial!
Well, I have to go find that coarse salt he likes for tomatoes now!
Congratulations Beth.........WED technique challenge and TLC29. Too cool! I printed the instruc. last week hoping to try sometime. I will have to try this week. What fun! Welcome back Jacksonbelle..........We all missed your gorgeous cards! Nancy
Way cool, Beth! I noticed that the card pictured at the bottom of the tutorial was by you, but didn't realize you'd written the tutorial! Congrats!
Here's one I managed to do the other day (in several bits and pieces between thumb appointments!). I thought it turned out pretty cool. I posted it before today's challenge, so the keyword isn't in there. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I finally had all the supplies on hand to try one of these challenges! Congratulations Beth for your technique being featured. I really like how this came out but it took forever to dry!

Here are two I did. I still need to work on this technique, but it is really cool. For now I am off to a Dave Matthews benefit concert at Red Rocks. I'll check out all your cards tomorrow! Thanks for checking these out.
My first attempt was notably unsuccessful - I ended up with a crusty uneven surface and when I tried to stamp on it, I only got half the image. Am I doing something wrong? I followed the steps Beth gave us....
I played with this technique yesterday and I really like the results it gives. It's sort of a surprise when it's dried. I did about five backgrounds and made some trading cards with some of them, one isn't finished and one is ugly due to my coloring. Here's one wild one and one mild one! Notice the ink I used on the wild one.
This didn't turn out the way I thought it should with the salted background, but I ended up really liking the card. I will try this tech again tomorrow.
