TLC247 Cutting "Outside the Box" {11/16/09)
1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone. I hope you're ready to cut outside the lines today. This technique works great when you have an image that you want to extend past the edge of the frame you want to use. Whether it's a flower, a tree, or in my case today, a turkey, using Nestabilities, or Coluzzels, you can create interest and drama to your projects.
What will you need? Cardstock Image Either Nestabilities dies or Coluzzel cutting system Cutting Snips (short and sharp bladed scissors) Pencil and any other supplies you might want to finish your project with. I have created a PDF file with pictures showing you the process of achieving this look. If you don't have a PDF reader, you can download a free one by CLICKING HERE. When you open the PDF file, along side each picture you will see little yellow boxes that looks like a sticky note. Click on these sticky notes to see my instructions and if you have questions, just post them and I'll do my best to answer them. Once you see how easy this technique is, you'll be cutting "Outside the Box" all the time! To view my sample, CLICK HERE. To view the gallery of all the project using this TLC, CLICK HERE. And - remember to include the keyword TLC247 (no spaces) when you upload your project. |

This was soo much harder then I thought it would be. This is my 4th try at it today...the others were horrible. I'll have to play with this a lot more before I can feel comfortable with it. BUT............that's what this challenge is all about !!! Learning something new ! Great job Lynn.................... Thanks Tina |

Another great technique, Lynn!
Some are fun to do and most likely I might not repeat the technique often, but this one is SO useful(especially for someone who loves their Nesties and Labels). One of those "why didn't I think of that??" things. Thanks Here's my card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=111573 |
Hi Lynn, LOVE the technique! Did anyone else have trouble getting the instructions, though? I have the Adobe Reader, but couldn't quite get things to work. Thanks for another great challenge. hugs, Chris
|
This is totally cool! I will try it as soon as I get the little one down for a nap!
|
Is there a way to do this technique with Big Shot dies, like the Matchbox die labels?
|

I had to click several times on the directions for them to open for me. |
With a sizzix die there is no way (that I know of) to bring the image outside of the cutting line.

LOVE this technique and am very happy I tried it.
Here is my card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...988?&cat=16122 |
Thanks for the instructions of this. I did find that I had to cut into the image a bit further than I thought in order to line the die cut up where I wanted it. But otherwise this wasn't too bad. Here's my card.
