TLC221 Tri Shutter Card {5/18/09}

Hey y'all I have a great project for us today. Debi a/k/a letmecrop forwarded me this link to a fantastic card and tutorial by Bonnie Szwalkiewicz (wow, that was a challenge to spell) and I thought you all would enjoy making your own version this uniquely stunning project. The card that Bonnie created is a real knockout, but I know that this creative group will come up with tons of ideas to take this design to a new level.

What you will need for this project:

Cardstock 5.5" X 12"
Scoring tool
Craft knife
Ruler
Patterned paper and/or stamps

Just follow the scoring and cutting instructions on the blog tutorial and you'll be ready to embellish and create a fantastic project. You can use your imagination and remember that you don't have to use patterned paper - if you prefer, a great stamp design will work. Additionally, this awesome card will fold easily and fit into a standard A2 envelope as long as your embellishments don't extend past the outside borders of the card. I hope you will give this design a try! I'd love to see the TLC211 gallery filled with creative ideas.

To view my sample card, just CLICK HERE.

To view the TLC221 gallery of all of today's projects, just CLICK HERE.

...and as always, don't forget to use keyword TLC221 (no spaces) when you upload your projects.

HINT FOR NEXT WEEK: Your participation will HINGE on you playing along!

wow! I don't know if I can do this, but I will try! Thanks Lynn for such a great challenge! Am I first ?

Lynn in St. Louis 05-18-2009 02:31 AM

Of course you can do this. I practiced on a piece of typing paper before I did it on my patterned paper. I usually do a trial run on scrap paper before I do any new fold.

I couldn't imagine what to expect from your shutter hint last week. Just washed the last floor - perfect timing to take a pause in the day :D.
And this looks just up my street - thanks, Lynn.

Judging from the pictures, this may be much easier than it first looks (kinda like the free standing pop up card). Thanks for a great challenge, Lynn!

imastampin 05-18-2009 03:13 AM

Everyone's cards in the gallery for this technique are so beautiful!!

stampnsk8r 05-18-2009 09:24 AM

what a great challenge. I saw this design in the gallery the other day and thought I would try it...I love what came out...but I gave it to my grandmother and forgot to take a pic of it...so now...I have to do another one. I'll be back later with a sample. :D

ddaniels 05-18-2009 09:35 AM

I absolutely love this format for a card. Here is mine.

Baby Tri-Shutter Card

I"m working on another one as well. This was created for a blog hop release party. Enjoy!

ardodd 05-18-2009 09:55 AM

It IS acting "wonky" and yesterday was a disaster! At the end of the day, there were only 2 pages posted for the challenge. Today there are what, 9?

KY Southern Belle 05-18-2009 09:56 AM

Here's what I did for this cool challenge and I even made a box to go with it! Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day. God bless you.

Thank you Lynn for the challenge and yes, SCS is wonky today.
