My lighting and camera makes this card look much darker than it really is. It looks much nicer IRL. Thanks for the challenge, Beth, I needed to use this hair gel as I have only done one other gel card since I bought it.

You know, I looked in Resources under gel cards but couldn't find the technique. I am either blind or don't know my alphabet. What a great link and I love all the ideas.

Default How a challenge can interupt a good plan.

I got up yesterday morning with the best intentions of getting some work done around the house (other than stamping). Then I decided I better just take a look at the technique challenge. My whole plan came unraveled. Instead of doing housework, I searched for about 45 minutes for small ziplock bags!! I had a bunch from some eyelets I had bought and I couldn't find them anywhere. However, I found some in my drawer that came with an extra button for clothes, found one in the junk drawer with a couple of bolts, thought about using the one that my embossing buddy is in, but decided against it. Then, of course I had to try this technique. I have not seen this before, so cool. Next time, I'm definately not checking anything until I get at least a little something done. Will upload my card later. Sorry this is so long!!!

I wish I'd read all the messages a little earlier!!!!! You can make your own gel (like I did) - there's a link on the technique's page, but basically, you mix about a teaspoon of regular old gelatine with a cup of warm water, put it in the fridge and then let it set. This is what I used for the one I made a few weeks ago. Have still got some left over - but haven't made my challenge card yet - I think I will have to do that today!!!!! HTH

Since gelatin is a protein, wouldn't it eventually go bad?

If any one is looking for those little bags, try a packaging store. msot medium sized towns with a commercial area will have one. I can get hundreds for just a couple dollars.

As for gel, try the sample or travel sized area of your local store if you don't have any at home so you won't pay too much for something you won't use much of. Especially since you really do not need much to get a great result. a tiny squirt squished around works and makes a card lighter too.
