TLC120 - Grout Free Tiling

This week we are going to make faux tiles on our cards. Check out these awesome examples!

Cammie see her directions in the card description

nmslmomto3 see her directions in the card description; she used a scor-it tool, but you can just use the scoring blade on your paper cutter.

lacyquilter she stamped the images, punched out the squares and then applied versamark and clear embossing powder.

Please use keyword TLC120 when you upload.

DH and I have been replacing the backsplash in the kitchen and I guarantee that your efforts at tiling will be much less physical and much less messy! My back is killing me from bending over the counter scrubbing the extra grout off and oh my gosh, putting the grout on is just a big sloppy mess. But, after all our hard work, the parts that are done look really awesome, if I do say so myself!

papermoon04 06-11-2007 05:39 AM

beadn&stampn 06-11-2007 05:40 AM

dawnmercedes 06-11-2007 05:52 AM

sweet...nice idea...and I got in a tenuous bikeride before the challenge was posted!

lacyquilter 06-11-2007 05:54 AM

Ooooo, oooo, oooo, you used my card! But I must tell you -- I did not use crystal effects (ce & I don't get along very well). I coated the whole thing with versamark & clear embossed.

Hope I have time to play today.

BevMom 06-11-2007 05:55 AM

Wow...this should be fun! Thanks Beth!

OMG, Beth, I am so thrilled that you used my card..wow!!! Thank you so much, this technique was so much fun and I need to do it again! LOVE IT! What I really like too is that you showed many different kinds of faux tiling, from CE, to EP, to just using a scoring tool. You put a lot of work into this, great job, as always!!!

bambi64 06-11-2007 06:00 AM

Have always admired Melody's card, just have done one yet. Maybe today I'll get a chance after I'm done being a mean mom and making everyone clean house!

Fantastic Challenge, Beth! I remember when Carolyn made that card, I put it in my faves for further inspiration, and until today never had the nerve to try it! Well now that I've been challenged...

Must take DD to her first Kindergarten class for orientation!! Yikes!! But I'll definitely be working on this later!! Can't wait to see what everybody does!!

Clownmom 06-11-2007 06:39 AM

I was struck by Melody's card when she first posted it during VSN. Can't wait to get home to try this one. AND -- I have new toys waiting for me when I get there. Mr. Brown dropped off a box this morning. What a wonderful way to start the week!

bensarmom 06-11-2007 06:46 AM

Woohoo, lucky you! Don't ya feel like calling in sick on the day your packages are delivered? There is so much excitement on those days aren't there?
Have fun and can't wait to see your creations.

genescrapper 06-11-2007 06:52 AM

Great challenge, Beth! Love that you showed the various techniques used to create faux tiles.
I used the scoring method on these ones: Anniversary and 'Bear'able

Now, I'm off to make a new card using one of the other methods ... :D

reneejul1 06-11-2007 06:52 AM

OOO - this looks like fun - I love the look of these cards!
