Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #390
Autumn's Ambition has Ruined the Mission!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. You might not think so, but the Tempus Calendar Company is busy twelve months of the year. Picking themes for the wall calendars, designing color schemes for the leather bound date books and fastidiously checking and re-checking the dates of holidays major and obscure. The company proudly proclaims their motto: Have we got a date for you!
2. April and Autumn have worked together as typesetters at Tempus for years. They take great pride in their careful layouts and uniform results. Their most challenging product is one of Tempus' most popular - the ubiquitous desk calendar with a page for each date. Offices far and wide place their orders in early fall so that Executives and Administrative Assistants alike can have the year at their fingertips, one day at a time.
3. Though the process seems pretty straight forward, the calendars are a technical challenge to print and a logistical nightmare to assemble. April selects the font, aligns the text and adds those lines for appointments. Autumn checks for spacing and painstakingly rechecks each date for accuracy. Only when both agree that the plate is perfect do the presses roll, and bin after bin of each date is lined up for assembly - all in perfect sequence.
4. One August morning April was unexpectedly late for work. Autumn, becoming nervous at the looming deadline decided to take over April's task. Letters and lines were placed, days and dates confirmed and the plate inked. Autumn had never run the presses alone, but had a fair idea and a burning desire to get it right by herself. It all started out well enough until she cranked the press into high gear. Instead of beautifully collated stacks, papers seemed to shoot from a dozen places on the machine flying into the air and floating down into disorganized heaps all over the floor. Our Autumn's ambition has ruined the mission! Your finely set border is a pile of disorder!
5. Well Teapotters, this clearly is where we jump in! We need to get those pages back in order...one day at a time.

This is going to Sue a woman who has recently lost her husband of 40+ years. One of the things she likes to do is quilt; and we are hoping to lift her spirits and remind her to take one day at a time. Great challenge!
