Default MMTPT589 ~ Nov 5, 2019 ~ Technique Cowboys

WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT589

Technique Cowboys

Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!

CHALLENGE:
Let’s be technique cowboys (or girls) today! Feature one of these techniques on your card:
Faux Stamped Leather
Big Buckle Card
Faux Barn Board
Faux Leather with Masking Tape
Faux Hardware Embellishments
Bandanna Technique

Extra points for extra cookies if you include a silly joke on your card!

DESTINATION STATION:
We’ll be heading to the Bluegrass State (Kentucky) this week. SCS mcschmidty (Shelly) requested a tea party for her brother, Steve, who had surgery on October 31st and is now recovering. Steve had a terrible accident in 1995—he was helping on a farm and fell off of a trailer while bailing hay, and severely broke his ankle. Doctors were able to successfully perform surgery to preserve ankle function. Recently, however, Steve’s ankle began swelling up and turned a darker color. He had to have this recent surgery to repair multiple small fractures whereby the doctors will fuse his ankle and put in another rod.
Shelly says her brother has the biggest heart and will go out of his way to help others in need in any way he can. Steve loves trucks/cars. He has worked at a racetrack with horses in the past (that’s where he met his wife). Steve also has a silly sense of humor so humorous cards are welcome.

SEND YOUR CARDS TO:

Here is my card

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT589 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or just some warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party.Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.

You don't need to do one of these techniques you can be inspired by the tea pot or Steve loves cars so you can put a car on your card, everything is okay just have fun to make it!!

What a fun challenge Jen. I tried the faux leather technique a long time ago....it was great to revisit it.

What Anita said but also - you may already realise this but those are all links in Jen's post to tutorials for each of the techniques she mentions. They mostly don’t need special supplies, I’m betting you’d have everything you need for at least one of them if you wanted to try something new.

Ditto ditto to what Anita and Joanne have said. The challenge preamble always says that for this challenge it's sufficient to be inspired by the teapot or the destination person as well as the actual challenge details. Sending happy mail is more important than ticking all three boxes. The big buckle card is a fun one, and the bandanna is really easy; I've featured that as a TLC. I'll give you a heads-up that the faux barnboard is probably one not to try unless you have a lot of patience for trial and error. It always causes me angst.

Shelly, you'll have to tell your brother that I goofed. I wrote "Jen's friend" by my signature instead of Shelly's friend and I already stuck it in the mailbox! Duh! Oh well.

Default MMTPT589 Back In The Saddle

Better late than never. A fun to make card that reused an old wrapping paper and a little bandanna doodling. Thank, Jen and Shelly.

Default Hello

Steve is so thrilled to be recieving cards- he has recieved 8 so far, and really enjoys the art on them and is really enjoying the silly ones with jokes..... He tried to stump me about the horse named Friday!!!!

He cannot put weight on his leg, and the doc will wait to see if there is bone union before he calls the surgery a success. He was told that even a 5 year old has a challenge healing after this surgery. We will have to really be on him about following doctors orders!!!

Thanks so much to everyone!!!
Shelly

Thanks for the feedback, Shelly. Of course we are all happy to send, but it's a bonus to hear back. It wasn't s bone operation, just tendon, but I know my aunt took s long time to get to the recovery point after her ankle surgery. Hard to have such restricted mobility.
